Even I am on WIndows 7 , but 32 bit. But this keeps crashing.
Kindly let me know if you find the solution.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and have just tried Khorem's method. Unfortunately, this doesn't help. Itunes simply doesn't start. I only saw the "SW Agreement Confirmation" and clicked "Agree". After that, absolutely nothing happens. :-(
Crap SW.
Try deleting the files in this directory. C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes. This should cause iTunes to open like it was just installed. It has worked for everything but video that I'm aware of. If some of your media is not working I would try and reimport it again.
Thanks for the suggestion; unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem.
True, I get the "accept conditions"-window, and when I accept that, nothing happens:
ITunes simply doen't start. Nothing happens, no windows, no UI, nothing. However, it does produce a new iTunes-directory in the path C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\
Did you follow exactly what I wrote? You must be missing a step. Did you go through the reference of removing itunes and apple products from your system as the referenced site suggested?
I am 100% sure you are missing a step. I have now tested iTunes on win7 home, pro, ultimate and both 64bit and 32bit.
If it works for me it 'MUST' work for you, there's no magic solution for this other than following simple instructions.
If all fails, re-install windows and then install iTunes, and it should be functional (i have installed iTunes 10.7.0.21 on a fresh install as well) 🙂
Although, i don't understand --why-- older version would break after the update...
Hmm, apparently I did not.
I have checked the reference site and used "Everything" to still locate some files etc.
There are some five "iTunes Labrary"-files that I can't remove however. They are located under c:\windows\csc\v2.0.6\namespace\username\my music. It seems that this is some stuf from my company's network server???
Besides that, I am quite convinced, that my PC is absolutely apple-free.
I still cannot run the newly installed iTunes. It gives me the "SW acceptance page" than nothing else happens.
Can this be due to the left files in the above mentioned directory??
I was having trouble getting 10.7 to launch (I have Windows 7 64-bit). I tried for a few days to get it to work, and the simple trick that worked for me was uninstalling Quicktime. Itunes has worked with no problems after that. I've since reinstalled Quicktime and everything is still working.
After installing the new Itunes 10.7.0.21 update, I have the problem where I can not access the Store. I am on a Windows 7 64-bit OS. Everything worked great before this update. I don't know why I did it because the only other time I did an update for Itunes it caused a problem. I have tried a number of the solutions suggested in this thread. I did not try the one suggested by Khorem. Checked the page and saw a post that a person followed the directions and reinstalled and still could not access the store I have spent too much time on this. All I can say is Apple will not get any more of my money until this is fixed. I did nothing else to my computer but this update and that is when the problem started. So if this update was ok, I should not have a problem as the previous version worked fine. I will buy CDs and load them even though a 10 song CD now take 2.5 hours to import. No more purchases through Itunes. This could be the case with a number of windows 7 users if they can't access the store.
I didn't have a problem with the iTunes store crashing the program, but every time I tried to run video (podcast, imported .mp4, iTunes downloaded movie) after upgrading to iTunes 10.7.0.2 in Windows 7, iTunes crashed with vague "iTunes has stopped working" message.
This fixed things for me: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4221
Uncheck "enable Direct3D acceleration" in QuickTime.
Hope that works for you.
Solved (for me anyway)
After waiting a very long time iTunes eventually became responsive. I then disabled "backup to iCloud" and all was well.
Uninstalling Quicktime fixed my issue with being unable to access the iTunes store.
Thanks for all good advice. I tried all, my PC was complely empty of any kind of Apple-prodduct (iTunes, Quicktime etc.). The only thing I couln't remove was some kind of library somehow connected to my company's network settings (Windows\CSC\v2.0.6\namespace\mydomain\..\iTunes\).
And iTunes just wouldn't start!
But today, I just installed the new version 11.0.0.163 for Windows 7, 64 bit and..... now iTunes works again.
Hip, hip....
cheers i just unticked itunes and rebooted now works fine ..thx 🙂
