iPhone 5 preorder says it will ship in two weeks

Just preordered the Iphone 5 and my receipt from the Apple store say that it will be available to ship in 2 weeks and will be delivered within 5 days after shipping. What???? I thought I would get it on the 21st of Sept. If this is true I will be canceling my order and getting in line at an Apple store onthe 21st. Also, At&t is saying that I am not elligable for an upgrade yet I bought my 4s the first day it was available last year. I had to pay 650 for it. Anyone else having similar problems.

I ordered at 6 am Eastern time and had the "2 week" shipping time. Now it says it will arrive on October 5th. I called Apple to change my shipping option or try to change it to store pickup and they won't change it at all. Part of me wants to go to Best Buy to pre order it but I don't have faith that I would get it any sooner.

Cancelled my order with Apple. AT&T automatically reset my upgrade. I'll be waiting outside my neighborhood AT&T store on the 21st. I couldn't wait until October 5th. That's a joke. Even the rep at AT&T said that it was pointless to do it today unless you were in the first batch. He said I'd have much better luck next Friday. So that's where I'll be next Friday. Line or not. 🙂

Ok so just to confirm a few things for those who might benefit from knowing:

I've got off the phone to an Apple rep in the UK because my order wasn't showing up online when I tried to search for it and I pathetically got a bit panicked.

First of all, she basically said because the system is so overloaded at the moment, some parts of the site regarding order status etc aren't working properly, so if you click your order number and it's not being recognised or loading or whatever, don't panic.

Second of all, I asked what the delivery date estimates really meant and she confirmed that any orders made before 9-9:30am this morning (UK) were in the 'first batch' and were guaranteed either BEFORE or on the 21st. (She wasn't shy in reiterating that they could arrive before the launch date!) She added that those who got a 21/9 launch date delivery confirmation would DEFINITELY get them then and this date wouldn't change or slip back because "Apple didn't do that to their customers".

After 9-9:30am, delivery dates were pushed back (2 weeks) because launch date pre-orders sold out (as we know).

I'm sorry to say that those who got a 2 week delivery date from launch unfortunately won't be getting them earlier than that, as some people here have speculated. Those who got a launch day date will definitely get theirs then.

This my take on all is

I ordered my phone at around 145 am pacific coast

It initially said will ship in two weeks

I wanna say that this is just a standard message for all items ordered on apple

Today I checked and it's in "processing" and it will ship on 9/21

I know a lot of people cancelled because of the shipping date and would rather go in or go to best buy or Walmart but f you think about it, this is APPLE THEMSELVES so they are going to have all the inventory and the stores will only have a piece of that. Apple stores are always in metro places so of course you're going to have to wait and it's extremely possible that they will run out or they only give certain away per day.

I suggest keeping your current order so you have your place in line. They've been doing this for over 5 years now so they know what to do. Also, if they can handle making an amazing line of product and innovate the electronic industry, I'm sure they can handle the masses of an electronic preorder.

Nonetheless, hope everyone gets theirs in a smooth transaction and can't wait for the cases to start rolling out!
