iPhone 5 preorder says it will ship in two weeks

Thank you for posting this info, I'm following my 5 right now.

I just talked with a rep and was informed that somehow my order was coded as a business order. She thinks this may have been why my date was kicked back. I told her I used my personal charge card and that I was ordering for myself. She kept asking if I had used a purchasing agent I said no, that I had just used the website on the 14th. This all seems strange. I had called before and was not told this. Rather I was told to take Friday off and stand in line. When I said I was a teacher and was not going to do that, I was told to get a sub and take the day off to stand in line. This is ridiculous and now to find this out, I am disappointed with Apple. Just thought I would share my experience.

I'm glad others were able to find their phones. One thing to consider, you have to be at your residence to sign for the package, otherwise you'll have to wait till Saturday. There is a way to presign, but we can't do that until our orders go from the status of "preparing for shipment" to "shipped" So keep an eye on that if you need this option.

Man, you guys are lucky lol I actually have never had an iPhone and the iPhone 5 will be my 1st one. But I have to wait until April 26 until I can get the discounted upgrade price which kinda stinks...but I can't wait I worked my butt off and saved up alot of my money to buy an iPhone 5 witha two year data contract. Well I got weird problem, which nor apple or att got answer for. I had 4 lines eligible for an upgrage. I upgraded all 4 lines one by one on Apple.com around 2:20AM Central time. All of them went to "preparing for shipment" Monday morning. Tuesday afternoon one of them went back to "processing item". So I called apple asking why one of them went backwards and tech told me because att rejected my upgrade. I asked which phone # they rejected and tech told me they can not find that out and i would have to call att. So I called att and even they can not figure it out the reason for rejection on one line and that line is still eligible for an upgrade. Now most likely I would have to order again and wait 2-3 weeks.

If you didnt already cop an iPhone 5 i'd buy you one just for this info. YOU. ARE. THE. MAN!

I actually posted this info before that guy. He just wanted to pawn off the idea as his own. Therefore, if you would like to buy me an iPhone on one of my other lines, please feel free. 🙂

Hey everyone, so I was digging around more on UPS and this is a message that appears specifically for the iPhone 5.

Important information for iPhone Customers

Apple has required that UPS deliver iPhone shipments to customers on and not before Friday, September 21, 2012. iPhone’s are scheduled for Friday, September 21 2012 and have a delivery commitment of the end of day.

Why isn't my package moving? The packages are being staged in key locations and moved on a coordinated schedule for delivery on the shipper's planned release date, Friday, September 21, 2012.

Therefore, this would explain why everyone does not see a move on the package. Kind of stinks we can't get ours earlier than the 21st.

Where would be the best place to buy a 1/2 decent case? Besides EBay?

Funny I was just looking at mine too, says its still in ky. Of course apples website still says "preparing for shipment". Dude seriously thank you, if I didn't know this I'd prob be calling apple again today. Lol. I think they're gonna wait till thurs night, then mark everyone's as shipped to kind of build up tension for people who don't know this trick. Kinda like Santa clause... Lmao. Too bad I'll be sitting on my *** all day waiting, Santa clause comes overnight, I've had ups packages come anywhere between 12 and 8p. My last apartment it was always 7:30 on the dot lol. (I don't really believe in Santa clause, I'm 27)

Also, just bought that case, thanks man. If its free(ish) it's for me lol. Now gotta find free adapters...
