Just wanted to put my two cents in for everyone. I've been an iPhone customer since the first one and I must say my worst experience getting a phone was the iPhone 4. I preordered from the actual store and then went and waited in line. First I waited two hours then decided it wasn't worth it and I would just go back later since I had one on reserve. I went back every now and then to check the line and after four hours, the people I was behind, had only gone about 50 feet. I ended up going back later in the day and still waited for 6 hours and this was when the line was the shortest. I did get my phone, but just had to wait. I also remember hearing that third party stores, such as best buy and wal-mart had only limited quanties, some of which were in the single digits. I'm not sure if that is still the case now, remember, this was two years ago. I ended up preordering at 3:15 estern and I guess I am lucky cause my status still says on 9/21. It has not registered as shipping, but I took the advice of someone on this site and went straight to UPS and found my order by using my phone number, although there is no name and address associated with that order, but who else would have my phone number and expect a package on 9/21. As of now it is in Kentucky on it's way to the DC area. Also, someone had posted earlier saying that deliveries come from California, check again, they always come from China.
Hope this sheds some light for people
