I pre-ordered iPhone 5 32 GB black CDMA version, at about 7 central time this morning, and website says it will be delivered on October 5. If this is true, I am extrememly unhappy. Could it arrive sooner than that time?

I hear ya. I've got the same Delivery Date. I don't understand why they make those of us that pre-ordered wait, while they make sure they have plenty to sell at the stores. Pre-orders should get priority.

My delivery date was 2nd to 8th October, but since I'd pre-ordered only 10mins after the pre-order page went live, I was a bit miffed.
Spoke to Apple - good news (at least for me). I had also ordered an extra USB to Lightning cable, this is due to ship in October, and hence the date for my whole order was October, but thankfully, the iPhone 5 will in fact arrive 21/9 as I'd hoped.
Yippee!
Not posting here to gloat (much), but thought other might be in a similar situation.

Hey everyone, I ordered mine on the 14th around 2pm UK time & I have a 1st October delivery date, I expected 2wks as my 4S said that too. Put my phone on eBay & will use a rubbish one til new one arrives :( I can't wait though. Do you guys think the price of the 4S will go down a lot after launch day? Thought it might be best to get rid this week!! Envirophone are offering £240 so if it doesnt sell i'll just recycle it. Hope people get their phones quicker but my dates were bang on last year.
I just wanted to let everybody know that I work at UPS, and the next destination for these phones (mine included) WILL be the Louisville Kentucky Air Hub, so there's a good chance that the next flight out of Anchorage on flight 61 will be our phones. I'm imagining they're just going to refuel the jet and change the crew and take off in a few hours here. Scheduled arrival at KSDF is 12:48 am EDT tonight.
