Dear all,
I just got my iphone5 a couple days before and i had the same problem. I couldnt connect to the itunes store and nothing was helping. I changed the date, disconnect and reconnect with my apple id, i did everything described before.
But finally I was able to solve the problem. I just created a new apple id with a different email adress and now everything is working fine.
I'm having the same issue with my The New iPad right now (trying to reach to the AppStore from Turkey).
The iOS6's AppStore is a complete disaster for me. It is slow, laggy, crashes time to time...
It's a ****** lunch for iOS6...
If you have the following condition:
1. Have access to Internet,
2. Logged in correctly into App Store, and
3. But can't purchase or update software and get cannot connect to iTunes store,
Then the problem and the solution is the DNS (Domain Name System). In Settings, click on Wi-Fi, click on the right blue icon of the network you are connected to and change the DNS to 8.8.8.8.
Why This Works:
DNS is the phone book of the Internet that converts a web page address, such as Apple.com to an IP address, such as 192.168.3.1, for example. Your device needs the IP address to connect to a server. Somehow the address for App Store may have changed, but your device or router is still providing you with the wrong IP address for the App Store downloads. Setting the DNS to a new one, such as 8.8.8.8 (which, BTW, is a Google-related IP), forces your device or router to get the latest IP address for the App Store download. This new address is stored on your device with a TTL (Time To Live) period, after which the address reference expires and is forced to check if a new address has been posted by the DNS. That's why sometimes the other solution, which is setting the year to the following year can automatically expire the reference and force your system to get the new address. However sometimes the TTL for the address may be set to never expire and therefore, the change-the-year solution does not work.
Thanks work like a charm 🙂

While changing my date worked, I appreciate other options and an explanation of why it happened and thus another solution. As a new forum member (and new iphone user) I do wonder why Apple hasn't appeared to address this properly for all Apple users. Sure would save much frustration and bad vibes. Thanks again to all
Nothing working for me, when I changed the date and then turned on set automatically it just sits trying to load the time zone and still no iTunes Store. Confused
Ok I fixed it, I had an extra . After the final 8 on the DNS oops
After you've fixed it by changing the DNS, you can change it back to your original DNS. It's faster if your DNS is closer to your location, such as your home router.
I think Apple has or had no idea what was causing the problem.
I made an appointment and took my phone in to Apple a week ago. They replaced it. !! It worked fine for 6 days. Now the problem is back. I've tried all the suggestions here, including the DNS 8.8.8.8, resetting the network and logging out and in. Changing the date will occasionally give me a very short-lived connection to the iTunes store and allow me to update or download ONE app. What a PITA and a huge time suck.
APPLE: FIND THE FIX, PLEEEEASE!
Phone is 4s.
I agree, there appears to be no fix. I have done EVERYTHING that is in these forums, and should not be forced to reset my iPad to get it to work! Nor should it have to be replaced either! His is not an isolated incident by any means - there are literally hundreds upon thousand of people who are getting this issue and it is only recent, changing DNA to 8.8.8.8 worked, for about 3 days, no am back to the lovely 'cannot connect to the iTunes store' issue which is more annoying than the windows blue screen!
Raaboo, have you tried changing your DNS IP to your home router IP or you ISP's DNS IP instead of leaving it at 8.8.8.8?
It is a software issue and until they find a fix, we are unable to use iTunes. It STINKS.
So, why would I want an iPhone without iTunes, Apple?? Where is the answer??
