Great I now has the same errorthe last 2 days. Nothink helps ( set date or change DNS). This is really fu****** bug. Hey apple make a fix!!!
I'm also still struggeling with this problem. I also reinstalled my whole iPhone 4s, but after a couple of days, the problem came back. I found out, that whenever the problem appears it helps to change the DNS server settings to another public DNS server (e,.g. Google. 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 or OpenDNS). After changing the settings, I need to restart the appstore app on my iPhone. This let me install approx. 4-5 updates or apps from the appstore until the problem reappears. There are many lists of public DNS servers in the internet available, just google for it (e.g. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/a/free-public-dns-servers.htm)
Thank you, Mr. Airport, for the link to info for DNS servers. Sometimes this works. Go figure.....
In order to get rid of this annoying error message, follow these steps:
Am sure it will help you to sort this issue.
I followed your instructions and it helped. Thanks! I'll let you know if the problem comes back.
Unfortunately, after a couple of downloads, the problem came back. So I did the trick again and ist worked again. This problem really *****.
I've tried the methods listed abs I'm still reviving " cannot connect to iTunes Store " on my ipad2
Sometimes the DNS Issue can be so persistent as the wrong iTunes Store download IP is stuck in your device's cache or even in your router even if you click on Forget this Network and reconnecting again. Try connecting instead to another network such as at work, at Starbucks, or any other free network to see if this clears the DNS information that your device is using.
I had "cannot connect to itunes" on my iphone 5 when trying to update an app. I tried the fix as mentioned but it didn't work. I did the following:
Settings > Itunes & app stores > clicked on my apple ID and signed out.
I could then update my app through the app store. I then logged back in my apple ID (it asked for card security again) and it seems to be fine.
Changing the DNs to 8.8.8 .8 worked for me
Changing the DNS in Setting, Wi-Fi, DHCP tab, DNS , replace with 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 8.8.4.4 (Google), fixed my issue.
You may also just try Turning on Airplane mode, then turning it off.
This has the same effects as a DNS change, Flush. This should be the fastest method..
Please try this FIRST as it might save you having to change the DNS manually.
I tried everything... and all of a suden it has recently started working again with no issues... strange! The only different thing was that I turned off 'photo stream' - not trying to turn it back on again though, just in case!
This has just happened to me on the iPad3 for the first time. I saw the dhanging the DNS info solution and tried that and it fixed the problem. I remembered I had signed up with OpenDNS for our desktops and laptops and so I also put their DNS servers onto my iPad. I hope that fixes it for good, but who knows...
Hi everybody. I have had this issue time and time again. Here is a solution that worked for me. Go to the App Store. Click "Purchases" instead of "Update". Each app that needs updating will have the iCloud symbol next to it. Tap the symbol. You will be prompted to enter your Apple Password. Once you enter it once you will be able to update each app. Some apps will begin "installing" on their own while others will go to the apps page. If so, tap the "install" button. It should change to state " update". Tap again and your apps will update. Apparently this is Apple's way of ensuring that you have legally acquired the apps by only allowing them to update thru iCloud. Hope this helps.
@ms.x5: You wrote << Go to the App Store. Click "Purchases" instead of "Update." >> The problem with this is that when the error is occurring I am unable to access both the Apple Store and iTunes. That is the whole problem we are trying to address. Are you advocating doing this preventively when the phone is working properly (which wasn't possible before Apple replaced my phone)?
