iOS 6 App Store Crashing when trying to view Purchased apps

After upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4s can't display purchased apps. I start the App Store, touch updates and then touch purchased. I get a spining circle with Loading... for about a minute and then the App Store just exits and I'm back to the iPhone's first screen.

I've seen similar behavior with my new iPad after updating to iOS6. I haven't seen it crash but when starting App Store and then touching purchased it just stays at a spinning circle and says Loading... It never changes.

I've done the obvious stuff, power cycle and hold both buttons for a reset.

I have read most of this thread and have had the same problem. My iphone 5, old 4, Ipad 3, and wife's 4s could not see purchased items. Was on the phone with Apple and my problem shifted from the call center to a senior specialist who was an actual Apple employee and and not a contractor. Tweeked every button in settings and did a complete reload of of IOS 6 on my 5 - no avail. Loaded my wife's itunes account on my 5 and volia - purchased items showed up. So for me the problem is something with my apple id - everything else works - updates, purchases, Itunes. So the the ticket went to Itunes people to resolve - but it could take up to 48 hours. Good news is that is not the hardware or software but a small glitch with my Apple ID. After 6 years of apple products and this is my first ever issue - I can live with that... The bad news is that Apple does not now that people are having problems. I did mention this thread and the last guy was acutally looking at it.

I just signed out of my ID and on with my wife's. She has only aout 20 purchased apps. They appear almost imediately after pushing "Purchased". Signed back on with my ID, crash! Occasionally I can get the purchased list to appear, but 9 out of 10 times it crashes a few seconds after the "loading" message disappears.

As I said, I think this is a iOS 6 problem shared users with lots of purchased apps. I never had this problem with iOS 5.

This worked for me n 4 of my friends. the problem with the App Store purchases not loading is how many purchases u have and to hide some of them.i used my ipad one to hide my apps because the iPhone wouldn't let me. I had for over 500 iPhone apps and i hid almost all of them.I have now showing 138 apps now showing not hiding.the app purchase came right back as soon as i hid some of them on my iPhone.ipad one is fine so I didn't do this for ipad apps. But if u have a ipad 2 w ios 6 u might to get Purchuses back. This is Stupid that we even need to do this

If the App Store crashes when you try using it's 'Search' feature, you may try the following as a temporary solution to searching for Apps.

1) Open the App Store on your iOS device, tap search on the bottom, then quickly tap inside the search box on the top. You must tap inside the search box before anything can load on the main screen. (I'll explain latter why)

2) Type "appshopper" into the search box. This should bring up one result only, thus not causing the App Store to crash. (I agree with others in this post that it's the large results causing the App Store to crash, and for that reason I wrote in step 1, to quickly tap inside the search box.)

3) Install the Appshopper App. After Appshopper is installed, you may use the search feature of Appshopper. The search feature is hidden under 'more' on the bottom right in Appshopper.

Please post reply if this has worked for you.

Been trying everything in this thread because of the problem with the App Store closing out if I try to view my Purchased items.

The one and only thing that has worked, which I went through step-by-step on the phone with Apple Support, was doing a Restore from Backup.

I don't know why, and I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it definitely did work for my iPhone 4S.

Thankfully, I did not have to Restore as New Device!

Good luck with this issue. Apple is aware of it, according to the iPhone Support person I talked with.
