iOS 6 App Store Crashing when trying to view Purchased apps

After upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4s can't display purchased apps. I start the App Store, touch updates and then touch purchased. I get a spining circle with Loading... for about a minute and then the App Store just exits and I'm back to the iPhone's first screen.

I've seen similar behavior with my new iPad after updating to iOS6. I haven't seen it crash but when starting App Store and then touching purchased it just stays at a spinning circle and says Loading... It never changes.

I've done the obvious stuff, power cycle and hold both buttons for a reset.

Don't worry guys...

Apple is having an event next week on 23rd oct.

maybe launching a new mini iPad but unsure of the name given...

So historically seen, they release an ios update 1 month after the new ios release...

Just be patience for another week...

We will sure have our bugs fixed...

Apple do keep their customers satisfied...

It just seems likes it's a bug that they will have to fix in the OS. Updates for the OS take time, so in the mean time best just not to worry about it and forgo using the Purchased tab - it's not going to work anyway. In other respects the app store is much better. Note that you can search for an app and if you had purchased it, it will be installable for free. Not ideal, but it works.

Hey

Am not an expert but I tried this and solved my problem

You have two things to do

By the way I have iphone 4s 64gb and I have only 1.5 free gb

Doesn't matter lets see my solution

First trick you must be connected to wifi or 3g

1) go to settings

2) itunes and app stores

3)click at your apple id the it should pop up with 4 things

4) view your apple id and put ur password

5) the page you will see is about your details

Just leave them as it is and go to genius

6) turn offffffffffffff the genius

7) after u switch off genius click done at the upper right your page

Now you finished the first step

The second trick is easy

1) settings

2)privacy

3) location service

4) scroll down to system services and touch it

5) Switch offffffff genius for apps

6) switch offffffff diagnostics and usage

This worked fine with me except that i cant use genius in app store

I don't know but I really don't care about genius. All I care about is the purchased app and song that I paid money for it

Funny--this issue doesn't happen on the wife's iPhone 5 32GB, but happens on my iPhone 4S 16GB. Every time I tap App Store > Updates > Purchased, the app crashes after about 15-20 seconds of spinning its wheels. We have well over 1000 "Purchased" apps, so maybe that's the culprit? BTW...I'm on WiFi, and have reset my phone to factory new from both iOS (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contect and Settings) and from iTunes (which forces a new install of iOS 6). I've set up the phone as a "New iPhone", and not restored from backup--each time. Frustrating.

That's too much to go through. You're a patient person! 🙂

I posted earlier that a Restore from my iCloud backup worked for me. And it did...for a couple of days.

Now, it's back to crashing each time.

I only have about 350+ apps, so there's no way this is related to the number of apps in iTunes or on the devices. With all the various things here that people have tried and failed with, this is definitely an iOS glitch of some kind.

Apple needs to fix this in a software update and they need to stop sending customers from one customer support person to another, to the Apple Store, to here, etc. They should simply acknowledge the issue, let us know they're working on an update to fix it, and get it done.

Like many of us, I use(d) Apple because it just worked. Thinking hard about that now.
