iOS 6 App Store Crashing when trying to view Purchased apps

After upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4s can't display purchased apps. I start the App Store, touch updates and then touch purchased. I get a spining circle with Loading... for about a minute and then the App Store just exits and I'm back to the iPhone's first screen.

I've seen similar behavior with my new iPad after updating to iOS6. I haven't seen it crash but when starting App Store and then touching purchased it just stays at a spinning circle and says Loading... It never changes.

I've done the obvious stuff, power cycle and hold both buttons for a reset.

I did share on page 6 that one of the solutions worked for me actually! It was the deletion of apps from the app store on my computer I had about 600-700. It took awhile but i manually went in and deleted or hid them as Apple puts it got it down to 99, tried the purchased on my app store on my device and it worked. Like I said before I know some people have a lot more then that but I couldnt hurt to go in and try getting them down to lower number.

I gave that suggestion early because I heard it earlier in the beginning of the posts. But the same thing is happening to me I can't get into my hiden purchases on my iPhone or iPod touch it's fine on my iPad one running iOS 5 I guess it has something to do with the number of apps it's confusing the system. But Everything else is working fine I could download apps update apps View purchased apps and all my push notifications are working again too except for Facebook

I think I found the solution!

I updated to ios 6 last week, and since then I had been thinking that my Wi-Fi picked a terrible time to suddenly be unreliable and slow. I hadn't been able to download consistently, view apps or itunes purchases, or even view content on Safari -- everything had been sloooooooooow.

Here's what has fixed it for me so far (and I apologize if it has been tried and failed by others):

1. Go to:

Settings --> Privacy --> Locations Services --> System Services --> [Turn OFF] Genius for Apps

2. Hard reboot.

And, VOILA! It has worked 100% for me. Everything is back to what it was with ios5 -- i.e., consistently fast downloads and loads via Wi-Fi.

Obviously, Apple REALLY wants this feature (Genius for Apps) to work, and even more obviously, it's a PR sore thumb to inconspicuously impose upon consumers a privacy-infringing "feature."

I bet Apple internally acknowledges that Genius for Apps grinds the devices down to a halt, but won't publicly say anything because of the inevitable backlash.

Good luck, and I hope it works for whoever else tries it. If this has been mentioned before, my apologies!

Hi,

I had the same problem and looked at the crash log. Lots of low memory reports. And also I noticed my assistive touch crashing now and then.

So I presumed that assistive touch crashes and restarts when it's low in memory. So I turned it off and without reset, I was now able to view my purchased items in Appstore. I turned it back on and my purchased items crashed again.

Not too sure why assistive touch is taking so much memory when I have no apps opened.

I believe for my case it's more of a memory issue as my iPad has no issues at all on iOS 6. Only on iPhone 4S, iOS 6 causes lots of crashes, especially the camera.

Hope this solution may help some people.
