iOS 6 App Store Crashing when trying to view Purchased apps

After upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4s can't display purchased apps. I start the App Store, touch updates and then touch purchased. I get a spining circle with Loading... for about a minute and then the App Store just exits and I'm back to the iPhone's first screen.

I've seen similar behavior with my new iPad after updating to iOS6. I haven't seen it crash but when starting App Store and then touching purchased it just stays at a spinning circle and says Loading... It never changes.

I've done the obvious stuff, power cycle and hold both buttons for a reset.

It seems as though the AppStore 'purchased items' crash could be related to a problem with the AppleID. Had an iPhone 4 that was doing this, and tried logging in with a different ID and it all worked. So, no changes to the hardware or settings, just using a different ID worked. Perhaps there is a glitch in the AppleID purchasing database that is affecting some IDs.

I just re-read the original question and the thread. A lot of replies are about other issues and solutions to them. The original issue is this:

If you open the App Store app on iOS 6 and hit the purchased tab on the iPad, or the Purchased folder in the Update tab on the iPhone, it just loads forever or crashes. This thread is just about this one problem and it seems to be only effecting account that have bought a lot of apps in the past. It's almost like it tries to load every app you've ever bought at once and can't do it. With this problem everything else on the App Store, for me at least, works perfectly its just this one thing. I have seen on this thread a few people having success by hiding a lot of their unused apps but I have too many to do that and don't think we should have to.

I would love a solution to this one issue, but I've only heard back from Apple that they are aware of the issue and working in it. Luckily I was able to put my iPhone 4 back onto iOS 5 and my purchased apps section of the App Store works adjust fine.

İ tried everything and nothing worked. Dont talk like this. Share your solution if you have one. İ think this issue has something to do with apple itself. İ tried this on 3 other iphones and my account crashes on everyone of them. This might be a bug that is affecting the accounts with miilion of apps like mine :)

I am not going to completely alter how the current app situation is, or try hiding hundreds upon hundreds of apps, in the hopes that I might have it work again, MAYBE.

This is a clear issue with iOS 6. My iPad 1 on iOS 5, and previously my iPad 2 on iOS 5, had zero problems accessing my past apps. This is an issue on Apple's end, as it's non functional on both the iPad 2 and iPhone 5, both of which have substantial free memory to load everything up.

It is very frustrating and I'm seriously hoping this gets fixed sooner, rather than later.

Between this and iTunes Match, it a blooming joke!!

Exactly the same problem here after an "upgrade" to ios6.

When trying to access the "purchased" section of iTunes/music store (which shows a massive 121 tracks...) we get the spinning wheel of death before the iTunes/music store app eventually crashes. Other non-upgraded devices are okay. It seems strange that such a bug wasn’t discovered during pre-release testing however it would be nice to see an official Apple response and acknowledgement of a problem.

Personally, if there are bugs discovered, I’d have far more respect and would far rather if vendors (not just Apple) would hold their hands up and officially say “yes, we’ve got it wrong, don’t worry it’s not a problem with you, we are working on it” and then give an indication of time to fix. Problems happen, it would just be nice to know that someone is working towards a resolution.

However, I fear what’s more likely is that a new code drop will eventually be released (marketed of course with some positive spin of other “must have enhancements”) that just happens to fix the issue. After all… if you keep quiet it’s less likely to damage reputation.

Combined with the farce that is ios6 maps I wish I hadn't bothered “upgrading” this device… I will definitely not be upgrading my other devices anytime soon 😉.

Climbing off my soapbox now....

I don't know where I heard it but someone said to fix the problem with the App Store purchases not loading is how many purchases u have and to hide some of them. I had for over 500 iPhone apps and i hid almost all of them.I have now showing 138 now showing not hiding.the app purchase came right back as soon as i hid some of them on my iPhone.ipad one is fine so I didn't do this for ipad apps. But if u have a ipad 2 w ios 6 u might to get Purchuses back. This is Stupid that we even need to do this
