iOS 6 App Store Crashing when trying to view Purchased apps

After upgrading to iOS 6 my iPhone 4s can't display purchased apps. I start the App Store, touch updates and then touch purchased. I get a spining circle with Loading... for about a minute and then the App Store just exits and I'm back to the iPhone's first screen.

I've seen similar behavior with my new iPad after updating to iOS6. I haven't seen it crash but when starting App Store and then touching purchased it just stays at a spinning circle and says Loading... It never changes.

I've done the obvious stuff, power cycle and hold both buttons for a reset.

I did it in the past where it would ask me to hide the app, but this time it didn't. I notice the word "new" next to purchases, so I wonder if they changed the hide/delete function. But either which way my total app count went down everytime I hit the "x" delete. Once i got down to 465 apps I was able to open the app without crashing on my iphone.

I've now too discovered, don't remember who in this thread discovered it, that these crashes generates a low memory report. Every time it crashes due to clicking Genius, or entering Purchased, the Appstore crashes and generates a low memory report, but no crash report mind you. I've rebooted the device and made sure no other apps are running, yet the crashing continues, and generates low memory report upon low memory report.

Edit: Ah, I now read the other posts. Yeah, I'm a big downloader too, so I must be close to thousands of apps. I guess that's it, that we've downloaded "too much" for the current appstore to handle.

I hear ya. There should be no reason to delete them since it worked in the past. I have nephews that downloaded so many free apps that I was able to ditch a bunch and get it to work. I don't know where the threshold is at, but mine worked once I got down to 465 apps. I reject not checking in intervals because maybe it could have worked at 600 or 500 apps. The only real solution will be for iOS 6.1 where they update the memory on the iPhone to open a larger memory block to receive in the data of the App Store purchase history. Good luck.

After upgarding to iOS 6 I experienced the same crashing while try to view purchased apps on my iPad2 wifi+cellular. I tried resetting Network Services last night as suggested earlier in the thread, and that didn't help. I noticed at work today that while using cellular, my Purchased function appeared to work, albeit slowly. So at home tonight, while Purchased still crashes after "loading" for 60 seconds when connected to wifi, if I turned wifi off and used cellular, the Purchased function worked, again slow to retrieve my thousand or so apps.

So I turnped off wifi in Settings, started Purchased up in cellular, and after the list of all my purchased appeared, I switched to Settings and turned on wifi, and after connecting, switched back to App Store Purchased list, which still was there, and downloading icons as I scrolled, etc. seemed to still be working, downloading, etc.

So then held my breath, I killed the app, restarted it in wifi. And now it seems to work every time, again slow to retrieve my apps, but that could be the fact I have so many, or some other server problem, etc. It seems to me the entire app store is slower now under iOS 6.

But for now, it appears my problem has been resolved. If you have this problem and have the cellular version of the iPad or an iPhone, then give it a try. If you have only a wifi iPad or iPod then this "fix" is of no help to you. Sorry. It does seem to be a wifi connection problem of some sort. Try going to another wifi source such as Starbucks or McDonlads and try connecting to Purchased in the App Store. Maybe it only tales one time for it to get unscrambled.

Sorry but this is not limited to large number of app purchases. I have 26 on my iphone 4s and have the same issue in not being able to see them after the upgrade. I see some in settings so I know there are in the phone somewhere, but not where. I can see them in the app store when I go to genius and purchases... so don't know what the heck's going on.

Thanks this helped my purchase apps not opening up! I had about 600 I got them down to 200 and it helped but then just kept going and got it down to 99! I was able to go in my purchased on my devices and download them from there much easier! Also people if you can't get them on here you can go do it on ur computer an get your purchases apps from there and manually apply them on ur device!
