Cant update from ios 6 beta 4 to GM
Keeps saying software is up to date when i check wirelessly and through iTunes.
Does anyone know how to get round this issue?

If you were running a developer-only beta, then you must be a developer, and should ask in the developer forums.
i was a registered developer when ios 6 beta 1 was released but this has since ran out. Pay my £99 and i'll ask in there.

Actually my frd had developer membership and i get it updated with curious... i think he also doesnt know.
All you have to do is restore the phone through itunes or download and install the GM from the devloper website.
I'm also having this problem. Can anyone confirm that restoring the phone will fix?
I'm having same issue, trying to get a hold of my buddy that has the dev account - I'm resorting to downloading the IPSW through a torrent.

I can confirm that connecting phone to iTunes then putting the phone in DFU mode (hold home and power button down for 10 seconds exactly then release powere button but keep home button held untill) you see a restore message come up in itunes. Click restore and this downloads the GM release of ios 6 and gets everything working as it should.
remember to back up though as this is a full restore and not just update from beta.

To update from ios 6 Beta 4 to GM you need to follow these steps:
1. Connect Iphone to computer with itunes running.
2. Turn of iphone
3. Hold down off button for 3 second
4. While holding down off button hold the home button for 10 seconds
5. after the 10 seconds let go of the off botton and wait for 6 seconds
6. Wait then follow the Itunes restor and update walkthrough and it will download the latest version and update your Iphone for you.
I hope this works for everyone and can comfirm worked for my Iphone 4s

Restore as new didn't work on mine. It said it couldn't download the right software for the phone... DFU seems to work. Don't post stuff you haven't tested out yourself 🙂
i found a simple solution 🙂
simply go to http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/, then click the arrow under iPhone/ iPod touch/ iPad / Apple TV, then find your iPhone (for example, i have a 4S) and click on the newest version for that phone (for iPhone 4S users it's iPhone 4 S (6.0/10A403) and click Download. then opne your iTunes and find your device. once there, hold left Shift and click Check for Update. it will bring up a folder. find the file you downloaded (for 4S users it's called iPhone4,1_6.0_10A403_Restore) and click on that. it will bring up a message. click Ok. and then youre done!

Download the IPSW (located online Google it).
Then do an option(alt) UPDATE with that IPSW...
