Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I downloaded the IOS 6 update and clicked on Install Now. and click to Agree. It says verifying update and then I get the error "Unable to install update. An error occured installing IOS 6." I get a choice of Close or Settings. Both take me back to IOS 6 update screen. It does say it's downloaded.
I've tried turning the new iPad off and then back on. My current OS is 5.1.1 ((B206)

I had a major problem installing IOS 6 on my 6 month old iPad 3. I tried everything that was suggested both by Apple and on the Forums with no success. FInally I took it back to our local Apple authorised dealer. He very quickly established that my iPad 3 was an ex-iPad 3 that had gone to meet its maker and not just pining for the Fjords, and they replaced it without question within 2 days. I installed IOS 6 on the replacement iPad 3 with no problems whatsover and I was also able to restore my backup via iTunes.
