New Maps App on iOS 6 - poor resolution?

Absolutely rubbish maps in IOS 6. Turns the clock back five years- literally.

I'm sorry I 'upgraded'.

Can I re-install IOS 5? I blame myself for believing the hyperbole.

Well, at least Apple knows where UK is. As far as Warsaw, Poland is concerned they have no clue. Number of mistakes is simply uncountable! So for me Apple Maps are useless. BTW according to maps my home does not exist 🙂

Apple Maps is still really new. They've only been working on it for less than a year. Google worked on their maps for longer before it was actually put out publicly. I wouldn't really blame Apple, but essentially they did release it kind of prematurely while working with third parties to obtain satellite and mapping data.

The resolution on the new maps is dismal at best and is far below what I would expect from Apple. Bring Google back or fix it!

Whoever Apple are using for their businesses database should be fired.

My local town map in iOS 6 has business listed that closed down more than 5 years ago, and others in completely the wrong place - not just a few meters out of place, but literally half a mile or more wrong, or at the wrong end of the street.

I've already used the "Report a problem" button to remove businesses or move pins loads of times. Remains to be seen if Apple actually takes any notice of these problem reports.

It really is a very, very poor showing from Apple this time.

Google must be laughing their ***** off!

Still really new? I pay big money for Apple gear. If all Apple's products were finished to the same standard as Apple Maps, the company would have gone under in the nineties. I wonder if Jobs, for all his hatred of Google, would have allowed this to go out against Google Maps? I hope Google can get an app in the App Store soon-either that, or make Android more appealing...

The resoltion is appaling, zooming in gives the 'no image' icon.

Yes, that's about the best we can get but it's much slower running through the browser and still no street view (you need flash for that). Also, I can't seem to pick a location by tapping on it e.g. For directions etc.

I've been impressed with most things the iPad can do but this junk shouldn't have been put out as a beta version never mind as part of the finished product.

Why did i rush to update to ios 6 ??!! The apple maps app is useless. All the other apps that used the old google maps interface (e.g. bike tracks, ride logger etc) now show a line over a fuzzy green mess. Why did they update if the quality of the satelite images is useless. I wish i could roll back to ios 5. I'd like to know what apple intend to do about it.

Well, Apple Maps are not realy new because they bought it from TomTom. The question is though, which version they bought. It seems like 3-4 years old one instead of the latest one

I was using Street View on my iphone and iPad this morning-

you don't need Flash-

I want to go back to IOS 5 too...

and the last thing I need is more f***book integration-

then download google maps, did you only update to 6 because of maps

I get the mobile version of google maps when I use the browser - that didn't seem to have street view in it? Forcing it into desktop mode it wants flash. Which browser were you using for it?

One of the most usefull feature of a smart phone, map, is now garbage on iOS6.

Many roads non-existant (Switzerland, Thailand)

Poor road differenciation

POI old, wrong place, wrong name

How is this an upgrade?

Unusual to have such a POS from Apple.
