Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

I Have a NetGear wndr3400 router. At first after the update I couldn't connect to it, but could with an older Cisco router. I am using WPA2 also.

however, wifi is working great now after power cycling the router, and going into the wifi settings of the phone and 'forgetting' my home network, then choosing it again and entering my network password.

In addition, my wife's 4s never had the same problem as me. She connected just fine, right away.

My wireless issue on iOS 6 upgrade is a bit different.... I can connect to my home wireless network.. However, I can't connect to my office wireless network anymore. When using iOS 5.1.1, after connected to office network, Safari will automatically pop-up the authentication page and ask me for username and password. After authenticaiton completed, the internet connection will work. After iOS 6 upgrade, Safai didn't come up and only a pop-up message "Unable to join the network "xxxxx" "displayed.. I have tried to reset all network setting, hard-reset but none of this fix my issue.

The link below, posted online at 8:29 p.m. EST by Digital Spy explains what happened. It also says at the bottom of the article that:

"the issue was fixed at around 8pm Eastern Time (1am Thursday in the UK)"

Are people still having problems with iOS 6 and WiFi connectivity? I would like to upgrade my iPhone 4 and my iPad 3 but refuse to do so if this really is not fixed. 😕

Also, per my lengthy conversation with three different support people at Apple, I was informed this is a bug in the operating system. It should have nothing to do with router configurations, phone settings, etc.

Are those people experiencing selective wireless access point connectivity issues still on this thread?

Unfortunately there was widespread wifi issues on iOS devices this evening that was totally unrelated to our issue. We have a thread going here with the same issue, but weren't quite as inundated with apple.com connectivity complaints. I read through this feed until about the 4:00pm time point, and it seems this issue may be focused around Netgear wireless routers, am I correct? It appears some people may be having success by enabling WMM support, but at least in my case, this option is not available.

I am also using a Netgear WGT624v3, which I see was specifically mentioned a few times in here. I was able to connect with 5.1.1 no problem (and multiple other devices with iOS5.1.1, OSX10.7.x, or OSX10.8.x can still connect), but cannot connect with iOS6.0. I do not have this issue at work, but don't know what type of routers they have there.

Hopefully Apple will hear our plea once the background noise of the earlier issue is minimized.
