White icon called "Springboard" after iOS 6

really sorry for u, I can understand your feeling, btw resetting the personal settings will fix the issue, for me it worked on 2 devices.

updated over the air my iPhone 4 32.

after many hours updating I've got nice white springboard icon...

zeroing the phone of all the settings is not an acceptable solution

I would like to have a fix from apple and I would like an official position over it...

Not for me it didn't. I initially "reset all settings", which of course loses all folders. Since I have more apps than the maximum number of allowed screens, I had to reorganize the first group of apps back into folders, then respring the phone to make the second half show up. Sure enough, the last icon on the last screen was the white "springboard" one, still there despite the reset.

I then tried a full restore from backup. No luck: the Springboard icon had been saved in the backup file. It was also in the prior one.

So, while the "reset all settings" approach does seem to work for some, it doesn't work for all. If it doesn't, the only way to get rid of the problem is a "greefield" restore.

apple should respond to us and provide a fix soon.....

Alex - you deserve an apple salary! They couldnt resolve my issue and accused me or having a Jailbroken phone, you however have soled my mystery!

Ryujin - 'Reset all settings' shouldnt alter your app data in anyway, including the homescreen placement and folders.....

I know it shouldn't, but it did. Lost all the folders, placed the Apple apps on the homepage in the default (ie new phone) arrangement, then just filled the remaining ten screens with the rest of my apps. I had to reorganize them, then respring the phone to get the rest of the apps to show up. Rinse and repeat.

Reset all settings fixed it for me

Only issues wallpapers set to default

Sounds reset to default

Alarms all erased

Nothing critical, all folders apps data preserved ok

YOu just have to reset all settings not erase all content just reset all settings and it goes away
