wifi sync not working after ios6 update

It's been working since I posted that comment (a few hours now) and my router is an Asus DSL-N55U.

I'm no expert but I'll assume you're having the same problem, not being able to sync via wi-fi. So what happened with you? Were you able to sync via wi-fi after setting your IGMP Proxying to disabled (i.e. allowing it to run)?

I have had the sync issue, used the "pull and replug the hard wired ethernet cable to the router" to fix it. Have not has the issue since then. Yes, all during this time, that setting I mentioned has been set to disable IGMP proxying. Which means it had been set that way ("by default") when I DID have the issue.

Well I am currently downloading iOS 7 on iPad and Iphone and upgraded iTunes to 11.1 guess we'll see i wifi sync works. Odd, the iPhone shoewd the iOs7 update but not when I was connected to iTunes lastest version..

So far wifi sync after the upgrades to iTunes and iPhone 5 it is working very well.

I was going to wait awhile to do the update, but perhaps I shouldn't.

I unplugged the iphone from the computer, then went into itunes wifi sync and it immediately started to sync.. not greyed out at all..yipppeeee!

I just want to remind everyone, many many tweaks will "fix" the issue for a few days. So while I'm hopeful, I think it would be most helpful if you report back in a week.

In general, I also think it's often safer to wait a bit before updating to a brand new version of iOS. Aside from issues sometimes associated with a new major release, I've seen older out-of-warrenty iPhones get bricked by an OS update (and Apple makes it very difficult to revert to an earlier iOS version once an iDevice has been updated).

I may be a bit paranod, but I wanted to throw out some words of caution. While I love to be on the bleeding edge (I will order the 5S on Friday), I now wait a little bit before updating the OS, especially with out-of-warranty iDevices.

As a side note, my syncs have been working pretty well lately, and I have no clue why...

Not Me Rob.. dam the torpedos full speed ahead!! I put the update on my iPad 3rd gen.. no problems.. I think we should at least upgrade to Itunes 11.1 and see if that helps but it seems to me that the upgrade to my iPhome5 did the trick. I too will be getting the 5s this Friday can't wait..the 2 days later I will be bored again.. my fallen human nature... I just hope the iPhone 5s camera is better! Oddly enough I never really had a problem with wifi sync on the iPad just the iPhone 5 using iOS6.

It is all wishful thinking. The itunes allows wifi sync when the computer is awake. It does not allow it after the computer has gone to sleep. I have escalated this issue to apple executive relations months ago. Finally they told me that their office will no longer update me on the issue and the fix will come in the form of a KB article or an update. Ios 7 did not fix it. I finally called their executive offices and got a call back threatening that if I do not stop calling I will receive a call from their security team. This is total BS.

I updated to iTunes 11.1 but still staying on 6.1.3 on my iPhone 4S. The wifi sync is on-and-off. When I click on "Sync Now" sometimes it works, sometimes just "looking for mac" and cannot connect.

Tomei it must be the iOS 7.0 upgrade on the phone then that will be the fix. MacUserAE acknowleded that.

MacUserAE did it ever wake up your system before? I never let my WIN 7 desktop go to sleep. But I just came back home and I had iTunes running and it found my iPhone and sysnc'd with out a snag.

I updated my iPad2 to IOS7. I tried configuring the "podcasts" section inside iTunes. As soon as I hit the "Podcasts" button, iTunes goes into spinning rainbow wheel.

The whole reason I use iTunes is to listen to podcasts (BTW this is also screwed up big time because iOS7 forces you to install the piece of shiitt Podcasts app). This completely blows!

Wifi sync has not worked right ever since iOS 6. It would intermittently wake up the system from sleep. The way it should work is that every time you plug your iOS device it should send a wake on lan packet to wake up the computer. Even after I updated to iOS7 it is not working consistently, it is hit or miss.
