Is anyone else having this problem. I updated to iOS 6 today on my iPhone 4s, everything else is working just fine, but wifi-sync isn't working, my phone doesn't appear in itunes until i plug it into my computer. Anyone have any ideas?
I feel syncing is much better now than it had been for the past 6-12 months I've been following this thread. I can't remember the last time a sync hasn't worked.
My Mac is still on 10.7.5, and I have an original iPad that's stuck on iOS 5.1.1 (and an iOS 7 iPhone). So I can't help but think something in iTunes is responsible for the improvement, unless incremental updates to several versions of OS X are responsible.
What should my iPV 6 settings be? Does it make any difference if i change these?
FWIW, the sync issue I had had seems to have not happened again... then again, my desktop never sleeps, it's either on and being used or off. OTOH, I'm still on Snow & iOS 6. Yes every now and then see the issue of iTunes NOT seeing the iPad... sometimes relaunching solves it, sometimes logging out and sometimes shut down & restart is needed. BUT it is VERY occasional.
Clearly this is a very intermittent problem, extended over different desktop OSes and mobile OSes, and one that IS very hard to pin down. As such, and as this is the Apple w/o Jobs, it's all about the money... so it seems they just aren't putting a whole lot of effort into really fixing it. It sure has no impact on those revenue/profit numbers or their ability to pile up all that overseas money.
After 18 months and still no fix from apple I've finally given up on ever getting this to work anytime soon so I've turned wifi sync off.

I just ran into a very interesting issue that has started to happen within the last 24hrs. When itunes is running, itunes match is turned on and my ios devices appear in the right upper corner of itunes, putting the iMac to sleep it is no longer seen in my shared devices from my MacBook Pro. Once i turn itunes off, the issue goes away. This is definately new, and I spent several hours speaking to Apple and the senior rep suggested that I erase and reinstall the entire Mac OS.
I am wondering if anyone else can reproduce this before I go erasing and reinstalling.

Just wondering if those of us still experiencing this problem are like me, extending their wifi network with a second router?
I just wanted to follow up on the wifi sync issues. I am currently running Mac OS 10.9.4 and updated itunes to 11.3 last night. Since the update to itunes 11.3 wifi sync is working all the time. What I noticed though is that my external harddrive connected via thunderbolt is always on. The energy setting is set to put hard drives to sleep whenever possible. Prior to the itunes update all drives would go to sleep, unlike now my lacie has the blue light on indicating that it is not sleeping. additional point itunes is open. When I close itunes external drive goes to sleep. Is this a new setting? Did anyone else notice this or can replicate.
