wifi sync not working after ios6 update

So we now have iOS7 and Mavericks and the Wi-Fi sync problems are still there. This is just getting old and ridiculous.

Same. Still hit and miss.

I have had no problems with the latest iTunes and the 5s with ios7.

I just want to clarify. When the computer is awake and itunes is running it does work. Once the computer goes to sleep it is hit or miss. The way wifi sync should work is once you plug your device in ir press sync no it should send wake on lan packet and it should wake up the computer and initiate the sync. So sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. What happens is that once you press sync now or plug the device in the harddrivr in the computer start spinning (ie it sees the wake on Lan) but the sync doesn't always happen.

I posted in the apple developer bug reporter and got a reply recently asking me to do the following.

Please turn up usbmux related logging as follows:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.usbmuxd DebugLevel -int 7

Then reproduce the failing case and attach /var/log/system.log. Thanks

I am not very familiar with Sudo commands and am not all that eager to try it. I will turn on usbmuxd but will not know how to turn it off.

I don't discount your problem at all. However, the problem you describe is definitely not the only problem behavior occurring. I have followed this problem for some time and definitely experience problems even though my iTunes is ALWAYS on and running.

Same here. I have the problem and my machine never sleeps.

Has anyone seen any improvements? I have had the sporadic on and off performance. I have seen a few threads talking about ipv6 fixing things. I have tried it without success. I'm not sure whether local ipv6 would help because not all internet providers support ipv6 yet (I have verizon fios)

18 months and 45 pages of replies later and things are still as bad as they ever were on my all mac setup.

Yes, this is no longer an issue for me. Everything is working perfectly for me. I almost hate to say that because obviously some are still having problems.

Curious to see what your setup is. Are you using apple router? Is ipv6 turned on? Will it sync after the computer falls asleep?

I'm on a PC running Windows 7. Before iOS 7 and iTunes 11, my sync was not perfect, but after iOS7 it seems to be. After a wireless sync, if I close iTunes, I can sync again a few minutes later when I relaunch iTunes.

I don't think it's anything different I'm doing.

What happens if you let your computer fall asleep say several hours later can you hit sync now on ios device and it will wake computer up and do the sync?

I'm all mac. Including an APE. Not with it at the moment so can't confirm ipv6.

However the machine never sleeps.

Wifi sync works 40% of the time since iOS 6.

I believe I'd have to exit iTunes first and then restart it.

Yeah, I can say that everything has been all good for me since OS X Mavericks and iOS 7. Wi-Fi Sync has been working for me seamlessly 100% of the time without any involvement of any kind from me.
