iOS 6 iPhone 4s battery drain

Did an OTA update to iOS 6, and my iPhone 4s is draining quite quickly almost a percent every three minutes

Only apps running are Settings, Messages, Phone, and Mail, and Location Servces are on for Google, Maps, Nearby, Reminders, Safari, Siri, weather, and YP Mobile (sames as before the iOS 6 update) All apps are up to date, and restarted the phone twice. On local WiFi, with AT&T cellular service, four bars.

Phone would get warm at times as well.

Maybe it's an anomaly, else, lets see if this post grows...

I am seeing the same thing. Battery drainage is very high after this update. I did a full restore instead of an upgrade and I have the issue. I recall seeing people on the GM release and iPhone 4s reporting the same problem.

Looks like there is another battery issue, like when iOS 5 first came out, let's hope they fix it soon.

Just wanted to add another post to keep the thread growing and confirm that battery drain has definitely been an issue this afternoon with an iPhone 4 after upgrading to iOS 6. Resetting did not improve performance.

While refreshing a battery makes sense to do periodically, that would not be the issue here, else all of us would have had similar poor battery perfomance before the upgrade.

Something else is amiss...

I am experiencing the same issue, in my case I think my wifi is causing it as it is connecting and disconnecting intermittently, I have tried the reset, the connecting to iTunes and activating the sync through wifi option. Nothing has worked so far.

So I am not sure why this is occurring, but while I am talking on my cell phone, the processor load is the lowest (under 10%) it has been since I have done the update. Not sure why talking on the phone would cause all the other processes (that were running prior to answering the call) to stop but there may be a connection.

EDIT - as soon as I hung up the phone, the processor load shot up to over 80% right away

Glad I read this thread. I hate battery issues and have had issues previously. I'd rather never upgrade than have battery issues again. I'll wait for the "all-clear" - if it ever comes. 😟

I have done the test and they are right. I can see the prox light coming on when I look at it in a webcam. Interesting.

Tested the sensor against a webcam and the mine is on whenever the screen is on even though I have raise to Siri off. Hopefully they will put out a fix soon.
