How to delete VIP Mailbox, iOS 6

Being able to move it means it's configuable. Moving it gets it out of the way. This is what the OP asked. Is there a way to delete it, no, as has been explained also. But until Apple decides to change it, it's a WORKAROUND.

Yes, this should be configurable, I won't use it so I'd prefer if I could hide it.

It is a good feature, and no one is asking they remove the feature. They just want a way to hide it, for the people that have no need of the feature.

Agreed. What a dumb enforced "improvement". I will leave Apple feedback and let's hope they add a feature to disable it ASAP.

This only works if you have multiple e-mail accounts. If you just have one account, VIP is listed but hitting EDIT does not produce a 3 horizontal line icon edit option.

So how is it an issue? If you are always in your "Mailbox" you'll never have to se "VIP".

Nope. I have one mailbox with several labels that I switch back and forth between (a gmail a/c) and I see the VIP when in the main email section and cannot move it. I'd prefer to remove it, it's an unneccessary addition, all Apple need to do it add control over whether to display this "mailbox" or not.

It is an issue because there are times when i'm not in my mailbox like when I want to look at my "drafts", "sent mail", "trash", etc. VIP will be showing at those time. To have a blue star (gag...so grade school) with a silly VIP beside it is absolutely trendy and unnecessary.

Moving it to bottom is a good enough solution for me.

Having moved VIP to the bottom of the pile where it deserves to be I have now renamed my main email account VIP ***** .
