NO STREET VIEW ON MAPS????

Streetviewer won't work on my iPad 2. Says it needs chrome or firefox 8+ browser.

How so exactly? I don't understand your logic at all...unless it was an impressively veiled sarcastic jibe at Apple's insistence that flyover is a worthy substitute for street view?

For ipad 2 you can perhaps install iphone version of the "streetviewer" app. I tried it on ipad 3 (don't have ipad 2 with me) and at 2x the street views look pretty good.

I guess no one has has the street view data other than Google. It doesn't make sense for apple to wait to collect the same amout of street view data from a non-google source before thay can bring changes to the map app - especially since Google street view is available via 3rd party app. Disclaimer: I am absolutely no relationship with the maker of the streetview app.

The iPhone version of "streetviewer" app does work for iPad 2, thanks for the help! It's not as good as the original google maps street viewer, but it's better than not having it at all.

I may still try to convert back to ios5, not sure if this os offers any advantage.

What I did was :1. Make sure I was on itunes 10..6.3.25
2. Dowloaded 5.1.1 from the link
3. Connected my phone to itunes
4. Held the shift key down and then pressed 'update'
5. Found the 5.1.1 download and clicked open.
6. Then let it do its work.
7. I then had to restore my phone from the back up I made before I upgraded to 6. It offered icloud or computer and I chose computer.
8. just let it run - it then asked me for a new passcode and then went on to download all my apps/music/photos etc.
I am now back with google maps working as well as youtube. Everything is as it was
Hope this helps but don't blame me if you have problems - maybe I have been lucky.

Bing Maps offers a very good maps service with Bird's Eye, a feature similar to Flyover. It's arguably better than Google Maps.

Very upset over IOS6 and the map! I depend on the street view, transit, and many features that are no longer available. How do I go back to previous operating system for my Iphone 4S?

I haven't tried it yet. I used the back up to computer option instead of the iCloud and plan to restore from that option. Not sure if it will work.

Wow! This really stinks. I am so glad I did not upgrade to iphone 5 to find this out! I tried a couple street view apps in itunes store and they all ...uhm...profanity allowed here? Agghhhhh!!

Can ios6 be dumped and go back to ios5?

I am an Ipad2 user and downloaded ios6 on night of release, next day restored ios5 due to the maps being so rubbish and missed street view, a major blooper for apple and hope google bring out an app soon or android might find themselves a churn of new customers

I'm in real estate...my whole team depends on street view....now it's gone...

Please tell me that someone consulted a customer advisory panel before getting rid of a key feature.....is it because Google has better mapping technology??? Well, it does, so let them be....

So next time Apple, take a customer pole/vote....because it us the consumer that has made your stock price what it is today, so let us have a voice please.

If you don't get this fixed, I will have no choice but to buy Google products so I can be successful in my business.
