My passbook app won't connect to iTunes on my iPhone 4S after upgrading to iOS 6.
I've tried numerous versions of the "date change" idea and it hasn't worked either. Are there any other ideas out there?
Yes, this IS the fix to passbook. A simple thing to do, but really, come on Apple, why couldn't you tell us to do such a simple thing? Hopefully this doesn't become a trend in the post Jobs era of Apple.
Not working for me :(
Nope - I have tried changing the year, restarting - still getting the can't connect message.......... Apple - ***?
Tried every variation of changing the date to 2013, restarting the app, rebooting the phone, MANY TIMES...still doesn't work.
Really Apple?!?
iPhone 5
I'm hearing the fix doesn't work for the iPhone 5 users - I'm hoping apple puts out the fix in the next day or so!
I have an iPhone 4 - and the fix doesn't work for me
I was looking to see if this didn't work on the 5 before posting here, thanks for the info.
Curious how Apple hadn't seen this problem before the release. It's really not a big deal, I won't use passbook too often, but it is quite frustrating.
Didn't work on my iPhone 5 :(
Waiting on an Apple reply.
I tried the date reset about 50 times...Never worked!!
Then I decided to try and load an app that was "passbook ready"...WALGREENS...It will ask you if you want to use passbook and then will pop it right in!! I was also able to load Target (It is only set for mobile coupons and when you finish the waaaay long application to that, scroll to the bottom to request Passbook)
Some of the others (United, ticket master, ect) do not let you load until you PURCHASE (boooooo!!!) Lastly, Starbucks doesn't come on board until the end of the month. (Double Boooooooo!!)
Hope this helps everybody! :-)
Tried that a number of times, tried resetting device and doing it again. Nothing - doesn't work for me.
Apple??? are you there?....a fix would be nice!
Forging the time (and resetting) doesn't work with my iPhone 4GS. Passbook "Cannot connect to iTunes Store".
This did not work.
Same here. The trick didn't fix on my iPhone5 (I'm in Canada)
For me, I found this was a larger problem with the App Store itself. For some reason, even though my iOS was updated, the App Store was still stuck on the old UI. It had all of the old panes along the bottom and none of them except "Featured" and "Updates" would connct. I got the error message with all three of the others. If your problem is stil persisting, you may want to check the App Store on its own, without going through Passbook, and I'll bet at least some of you have this error too. It took some weird steps which, frankly, I can't even remember at this point - it was late and I'm sick. But I finally got the App Store to flip to its new UI, with the new panes, and then the various panes started to connect properly; all except one. One that worked, then the Passbook thingie worked too. So, I am beginning to wonder if the problem is rooted in the App Store, not Passbook.
