VirtualBox stopped working with the update to 10.8.2

I just upgraded to 10.8.2 and VitualBox stopped working.

This is the error:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine dev_env_oraxe.

VT-x is being used by another hypervisor. (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE).

VirtualBox can't operate in VMX root mode. Please close all other virtualization programs. (VERR_VMX_IN_VMX_ROOT_MODE).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}

Does anyone have a clue?

I don't want to be forced to restore from backup.

Thanks

I am NOT a happy camper. I do not expect this from production software from either Apple or the VBox team.

I specifically bought a 16GB MBPr to be able to run multiple VBox VMs. Now I'm frantically exporting them so I can run them somewhere else until this is fixed. I can just see the finger-pointing that's going to slow down a fix.

😠😮

I only had the one VM, using a vmdk image. I had to delete all the snapshots, then I opened it in parallels and it converted it automatically (just complaining about the disk having no OS, it's an Ubuntu VM)

I know that there is a command line tool from Parallels prl_convert that might help, I think you can also export from VirtualBox in raw format, but I don't know what the command is.

Virtualbox allows export to ovf and .ova ?? i think but Parallels does not seem to accept those either. Looks like if you have a VDI image you need to go to vmdk first which is a pain.

will try it tonight when I get home, If someone can confirm if this works in the meantime it would be much apprevciated.
