iOS 6 Music Not Really There

I have updated successfully to iOS 6 on an iPhone 4.

After restoring the backed up iPhone I happily found my music now on the phone. However, not all the music is actually on the phone. It skips between songs that it cannot find.

I am a member of iTunes match but the ability to download the 'missing' music is not present on any of the skipped tracks.

This is incredibly annoying. Has anybody else experienced the same and if so, have you found a solution?

I did a full back up and restore, but still no music on my phone. I was able to get my podcasts but I think it is because of the new Podcast App that houses them separately. I have itunes Match and Show All Music turned on, in both the Music and itunes/Store sections of my iphone, but when I go to the Music App, it says "No Content". I expected to have to download anything I wanted to store locally on my phone from icloud, but nothing is showing up to download. In itunes I have over 5000 songs stored in the cloud - why aren't they showing up on my iphone? I have spent so much time on this the past three days - SO FRUSTRATED!

I was having the same problem and this is what I did and worked:

1. Open iTunes on your phone.

2. Select "Shared" (in my case, I went to "More" and then select the icon "Shared".

3. There were 2 choices: Choice one: My phone. Choice two: My library.

I selected "My library" (actually Mickey's Library) and FINALLY I was able to play all the songs I couldn't before.

Hope that's helpful to you all.

I had a stack of trouble, I tried all the suggestions on all the forums I could, after a full day of trying different things, restoring my phone 3 times... even one time starting it as a new phone I eventually gave up. Shut down my computer and went to bed, the next day I turned it on plugged it in and everything synced as it would every other time.

not sure what the solution is... maybe shut down your computer and try? all I know is I'm finally happy 🙂

I'm in this too... Intresting I'm finding as music is played while connected to WIFI, is comes back when connected to WIFI. It seems real silly to reset and restore when you have 25GB of music and only 4GB shows. Please post a fix as soon as there is one. Not happy when I left for a trip expecting my I touch to have all of the music and it only shows on WIFI.

When you open iTunes, connect your iPhone. Once it appears (left side bar), right click on it. A window will pop up and it will show you options (Eject, etc) Click on the option transfer purchases. It should sync all your music then (even the music you did not aquire through iTunes). I thought I had lost about 511 songs, but It worked for me!

I tried all the fixes mentioned - Restore, Turn off/on Match, etc. but finally found a fix that worked in a related post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3865948?start=30&tstart=0

Repeating the exact steps:

Used the ifunbox app (www.i-funbox.com) - it is free.

The path for the required files is Raw File System/iTunes_Control/iTunes

Deleted these three files (taking a leap of faith that I couldn't screw things up more than Apple already had):

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-shm

MediaLibrary.sqllitedb-wal

Then reboot the iphone.

Completely solved the problem in 5 minutes (if you don't count the prior 3 hours attempting other fixes).

My setup is an iPhone 4 updated to iOS6

Hi All,

I had the same problem. So here is what worked for me, disconnect the phone from your itunes , and put it on a charger. Then on the phone go to General Setting- Reset and press "Reset All Setings". Bingo! All music restored. I even had a whole playlist missing, it just reappeared. So this has for now worked for me. I am waiting for something new to crop up soon 🙂. Cheers. Hope this helps.

I also have the problem described in the forum here by many others and am frustrated that Apple hasn't acknowledged the issue or provided some sort of endorsed solution. My Itunes reports that I still have 30GB of music stored on my iPad, yet all music playlists, titles etcetera are Blank with 0:00 song length and can't play anything. Odd think is that when hooked up to iTunes, I can see the list of the music that is physically on the iPad and play it from there.

Many different solutions have been offered in this thread, but would like to see a recommended solution from Apple rather than simply go through trial and error for all of the suggested ones here beyond the standard 'turn off/on iMatch' which doesn't seem to have any results.

Please help all of us frustrated people Apple, this is ridiculous (Not to mention the different problem I had on my iPhone where iOS6 deleted all my music natively stored on my phone and made me download it again from the cloud instead of remembering which was previously on the phone and in the cloud).

What a nightmare iOS6 is for users who also use iMatch and have paid extra for this service.
