iOS 6 Music Not Really There

I have updated successfully to iOS 6 on an iPhone 4.

After restoring the backed up iPhone I happily found my music now on the phone. However, not all the music is actually on the phone. It skips between songs that it cannot find.

I am a member of iTunes match but the ability to download the 'missing' music is not present on any of the skipped tracks.

This is incredibly annoying. Has anybody else experienced the same and if so, have you found a solution?

Like others, I sort of got past the music issue by doing a restore on my iPhone 4. However, the restore part failed and I ended up having to set it up as a new iPhone. Frustrating. All my apps were on the phone, but folders were gone. i also had to set my email accounts back up.

However, neither my phone nor iPad2 will sync porperly with iTunes on my PC. If I force the sync from the device side, it works but if initiated from the PC side, it still says it couldn't establish a sync session and no content exchange takes place.

I'm rapidly feeling like iOS6 should be named POS6!

Same problem here. I can see artist and albums in the music app although all album covers or artists pictures are missing. Also, all the song titles are missing. I can't download apps or update existing apps. I got 14 apps pending for update a few of them started the process at some point yesterday and then failed. Now they are siting on the screen and I am unable to open them or complete the update. I have been trying to find a way to get the updates to work since yesterday without success.

Those who are indicating that Restore. Restore. Restore is the solution to missing Music. Please clarify - after restore you have OS6? If I restore and am back to OS5.1 I don't consider that a fix.

I was on phone for 75 min this am with Applecare. Nothing tried worked. He was clear I did not want to restore. Per his recommendation all things apple removed from my Windows PC. Seems a specific order of removal needed.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

After resintalling ITunes I did sync on both my Ipad and IPhone. No status change on IPad - still have album covers but not a song to be sung.

The IPhone was different - after sync the large cloud Icon and slow status bar present - but once status was completed all my music seems present. However a dozen plus audio books are still MIA.

Unfortunately Apple don't monitor these forums. Although they must be aware of this issue considering how many people have spoken to Apple support about it. However I'm not sure how much they care these days. That's the trouble with having a money man like Tim Cook in charge. All he cares about is profit. What he doesn't understand, unlike Steve Jobs, is that customer satisfaction leads to loyalty and consequently helps boost profits.

But back to the issue, I've tried restoring from an iCloud backup (I don't have an iTunes backup) but it keeps hanging after about 10% and my iPhone gets very hot. I'm going to try to restore from my last iOS 5 backup and take it from there.

Ah Music to my ears.

After lots of hours and lots of things tried - I now seem to have all music available from the Cloud - all audio books, etc. Only issue - almost every song is on the list two times - often 3. No small cloud icons present anywhere - have no Idea if this music coming from my PC, the Cloud, but at least I can now sing along.

How I got it

My shared had two items. My IPad and it was checked. Jimmys Library and it was not checked. When I changed the check mark to Jimmys Library - all was 99% well. Double/triple song names - same for double and triple albums and artists. Double much better than nothing - maybe next week Apple will have the issue sorted out.
