I agree with you... Seems like that is the situation. As in their way of know how much network traffic is being done on iPhones.

Someone posted the answer and this worked for me:

1. FORGET Wi-Fi NETWORK

2. POWER OFF DEVICE

3. AFTER REBOOT, LOG BACK INTO THE Wi-Fi

This worked for me: I restarted the iPhone, clicked the blue arrow to the right of the preferred network then clicked auto-join then quickly turned Wi-fi off and then back on. The iPhone then successfully joined the network.

all of a sudden wifi works again. must have been some glitch.

Have you tried this? It worked for me.:

Settings > Wi-Fi > (Network...) > "Blue Circle Arrow"

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and set:

HTTP Proxy to Auto

I had to do a reset all settings to fix this, which I'm not happy about. Test your stuff before releasing it! This goes for Maps too.

Got mine fixed.

First, I "Forgot this network"

Then, I "Reset Network Settings". Phone will reboot.

After that, it worked.

I had to do BOTH, one or the other didn't work.

Nah, it was a problem on apple's end. I tried all that and did not work, then after 10 mins it got fixed without me doing anything.

I had the same problem, but decided it might be server overload, so I waited. Tried again. Waited. Tried again. Just a couple of minutes ago, it finally worked. I'm now connected and everything is working -- Messages, Email, Safari, Maps.

It´s impossible to conect to Wifi. I tried everything recommended here and apple support.

This must be a failure in the iOS 6. Apple guys, you have to fix this mess soon!

I had the same issue and found a fix. Sorry if I'm repeating an already suggested fix.

On your iDevice, go to Settings>Wi-Fi>Choose a network (expand your network address by clicking the blue circled ">", go to "router" and enter your router address.

I was getting directed to an Apple login page and received the "404 Page Not Found" error. After entering my router address I was able to connect.

They surely did something. I tried the hard reset about 5 mins back but it didn't work. I just again did it and it works fine!
