iOS 6 installed. Can't access home Wi-Fi. Takes me to apple.com rather than allow me to enter pw.

After forgetting the network and reconnecting three times mine is now working. Makes me think appe were somehow responsible as it seemed to happen to people at the same time and then get fixed at the same time.

I could be wrong. either way im sure more info will come out eventually.

Everyone send tweets to the big tech blogs. If they get enough people saying stuff about it, they might put up a story and Apple may get on this quicker. I already sent tweets to Engadget, Gizmodo and BGR.

Question remains. How can Apple remotely control whether I can log in to a WiFi or not without providing new source code, i.e. a software update? Or: Obviously, a WiFi connection on the iPhone is not only Device to HotSpot. Somebody (Apple) might be listening somwhere in between. Technically interesting and beyond my (not half bad) knowledge. Can someone explain?

Both mine and my sisters iPod did this I had unplugged the wifi box and plugged it back in it worked , but if this doesn't work try restoring it.

Restored from backup via iTunes. Works now.

I was able to connect after I selected "Renew Lease" on the network I was trying to connect to. It connected and did not redirect me to apple.com looking for a page that couldn't be found. Not sure how many people this will work for, good luck.

thanks this helped alot the only thing i did was reset the network settings and it worked

Had same issues with 4s and New Ipad...Forgot each network then did a hard reset as suggested by others, and reconnected to wifi again, and worked like a charm for whatever reason...Just to let you all know..

SOLVED:

I had the exact same symptoms after upgrading to iOS6. Go to properties of the wireless network and turn auto join "On". This will fix it.

I had the same problem after updating to ios6. I was able to access my WiFi home network using a D-Link DIR-825 after doing the following:

Went to settings, then Wi-FI

Clicked on my Home Network under choose a Network

Then Selected Forget this network

Then I try and log on my home network and it asks me for a password

I then entered my pass phrase for my network encyption and enter

Voila I was able to access my router.

Go to Settings - Wi-Fi - ( once you enter correct password ) click the blue Arrow where next to the wi-fi user name and TURN ON ( Auto Join )

Thump up if this works for u, so everyone can fix the problem

Change proxy in wifi from manual to auto

i fixed mine by opening wifi settings of my router and DNS had my Router IP Address in twice.

i deleted one of those so it only reads 192.168.1.1 and hey presto it connected with no apple redirect.
