Just letting everyone know, that I had the same problem with an iPhone 4, and resetting te network option DID work for me!
I had the same problem but i think i have figured out how to fix it.
Setting >wifi> click the blue circle with arrow next to your wifi> scroll to bottom and set:
HTTP Proxy to Auto.
I did that and it has started working. I have no idea what that means or does but it works!
I updated today and had the same problem with my iPhone 4 at my house. It connected for a sec then the login pop up page came up. I turned off bluetooth and the wifi connected and stayed connected. It's working fine now with bluetooth turned back on. Hope this helps.
If you go to settings and turn off Siri wifi works. Apple needs to fix this issue but at least you will have wifi until they do.
I was having the same issue all I did was put http://www.google.com in the http proxy under auto and it seems to work hopefully this will provide a temp fix for ppl till apple sort out this issue
Did you restart your iPad after you upgraded? If so, was it working fine right before you did this?
Mine was working great. Things seemed a little overloaded so I thought I would do a soft restart. Directly after that, it stopped working.
You need to do a HARD reset, hold the home button and power button at the same time, device will reset. After restart go to network and connect to your respective WIFI network. Should have connection after this without issue.
Something wired happened here, I was having same problem, upgraded and wifi worked, then soon after it wouldn't work and sent me to some apple web site, now working and I didn't do anything. It concerns me that wifi connection is in any way related to an apple web site, surely that's a private connection, why would it ever route to any apple related site? Bad problem and scary too! I doubt we'll ever get an explanation that's entirely truthful! Still love apple stuff though, generally works well... I'll chalk this one up to experience and look out for any explanation for what really happened there for a while!
This worked for me. I have a 4s and an ipad 2
Try logging into your apple account on the phone or iPad.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > View Apple ID
Login then click done
Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi and try to connect.
Go to the settings and reset all settings. I reseted all settings and got mine back working.
Ok, I tried all the above & none if it worked! :/
I finally tried to connect to WiFi like this:
- Under "choose a network"
- Click "other"
- Manually typed in my WiFi info
And now my WiFi works! Thank goodness!
Ok it's working now. Just go ahead and do a soft restart. (Hold the top lock button and the home button at the same time until the screen goes black) If it doesn't work, try it again. It seems apple has already fixed the problem, or it has resolved itself.
Mine is doing this exact same thing. My iPhone 4s wifi stopped working when the update became available. I assumed once the update was taken care of, it would be fixed. I updated my iPhone4s and iPad at the same time (iPad wifi was working fine); and now neither will connect to wifi. Come on Apple... Tried all the tricks above, and not one has worked
i had the same issue, do a complete iTunes restore. Should work. Good Luck
I suspect it's doing something when connecting to ANY Wifi network that involves a step in the process that goes to an apple site (maybe runs some external program not naitve to the internal OS) and said Apple site might have been experiencing some issues.... just a guess.
Mine seamingly corrected itself for both devices without any special action on my end other than patience.
I updated to IOS 6 but my WiFi won't work!
