Reseting Network settings worked for me as well.
is this just on the ipad. when I bring up wifi on my phone there is no lease renewal option
Guys,
Same problem happened with my friend's iphone too.
I suggested him to "Reset Network Settings".
It worked after that.
Please give it a try. It should work..
Same thing happened to me. It stopped working all of a sudden after the iOS 6 install and I tried everything in the book. I was even changing settings on my router at one point. Nothing worked. It would connect for a second, drop off and then try to bring up a login screen from Apple.com with the message "Page cannot be found."
This is weird but it solved my problem both on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3:
Settings>Safari>Clear History
Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data
Hold down the Sleep button until it brings up the Power Off slider. Power off and then turn on again.
Reconnect to wifi network using Settings>Wi-Fi
Now everything is hunky dory. Super weird!
You need to go into your WiFi settings, click on the arrow next to your network and choose Forgwet this Network. Then back out to the WiFi menu, switch WiFi off then on again, choose your network, enter your password and the job's a good-un. If the stupid Apple log in page comes up after that, Ignore it.
Guys, don't panic~ Just wait a while and it will connect wifi itself... Or try enable the Airplane mode and then disable it, someone fixed the problem by this way.
Same here. Tried "Forget network" and restarting router. No luck.
have 4S and iPad 2. updated and had same wifi connect problem. I powered down both, kept them down for a minute, brought them back up. It's holding fine now for both my access points. I do read this does not work for all.
I experienced the same wifi problems after updating to iOS. It would appear to connect and then an Apple page would appear and wireless would appear to not be working.
I tried to FORGET the network and join again, but the same issue came up again and again. Here is what worked for me
1. Go to Settings
2. Select GENERAL
3. Scroll way down to RESET
4. Select RESET NETWORK SETTINGS
iPad will reboot.
Next, go to settings, wireless, select your network and it allowed me to browse/go to AppStore as normal.
Hope it works for you too!
I tried Clearing History and Cookies and Data.
What worked was switching it to Private Browsing. This forces a "Close All Tabs?" Choose Close All.
This forces a closure of all of your tabs that you had in Safari before the IOS6 Upgrade.
This fixed it without having to reset all your network settings.
Thx, disable/enable airplane mode worked. That being said an absolutely ridiculous solution for a problem that should've never happened. Shame on Apple!
for me changing to a static IP address solved the problem...
Interesting. I'd tried disable/re-enable/forget etc. with no luck. Left the devices alone for 30 minutes and both seem to have resolved the issue themselves. Something funky going on but right now I'm relieved.
Reset network settings worked for me...
