Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

"Safari attempted to access a secure website..." after 10.8.2

I upgraded to 10.8.2 this afternoon and now my son's parental controled account is broken. Whenever he tries to access a web page via Safari (or Chrome) he gets a message stating "Safari attempted to access a secure website..." I haven't changed anything on his account - it worked fine before the upgrade, so I assume 10.8.2 caused the problem.

I do have Parental Controls on his account, but web browsing is set to Unlimitied Access.

Please Help!

Correct grantalewis, there is no fix for this under 10.8.2.

The only solution at this point is to simply re-install 10.8.1, which for me meant installing 10.8 and running the 10.8.1 updater. Once you are on 10.8.1 do not update until after 10.8.3 comes out and we are sure this problem has been fixed.

What a joke! I doubt this guy tried his suggestions before writting this article, because none of them work.

I've performed the update here at home, and it seems to have fixed the problem. But the Parental Controls on my home computer are configured differently than on the computers in the Tech Lab, so I'll do those and report back.

The outlook is bright at this point...!
