Just installed iOS6 on my iPhone 4S and thought I'd test the Maps app. I put in my directions and pressed the start button but thoughout my 2km Drive I got no sound instruction. I checked the Maps settings and the volume was up Loud. I also did a hard reset and still no sound. My model phone is MD241X/A.
any ideas ?
I too have this problem. I have tried every setting I can think of, but still no spoken turn by turn. What am I missing? I have an Iphone 4S and updated to IOS 6 this morning.
I am having the same issue, except I do not see a volume control under Map settings. I have an iPhone 4.
Try going to settings turning off voice then turn it back on. And voice navigation only works on iphone4s/5 not 4
Tried that Trikster2247 - but no good - I have a iPhone 4S so it should work - anything else ?

It's not available in Australia just yet which is why mine doesn't work, check out the list to see if this effects you.
Ok, that's it. I live in Australia so I guess that answers my query, no worries. Will wait for the update next month. My fault, I should have checked further. Doh!!!
If you don't live in USA, the iPhone features don't work properly Siri, Maps etc....

Siri audio feedback for turn by turn appears to only be for driving directions on the 4S not walking.
Yes i'm fully aware that the turn by turn navigation is for driving direction, and im using it while driving fyi. Even tho if im walking the navigation should work, because im also moving.
Got the same problem. Uruguay is available for turn by turn navigation but there´s no sound. I check the settings but everything is ok. Someone can help us with that?
