iOS 6 WiFi option is GREYED OUT (unrelated to iOS 6 WiFi connectivity issues)

As reported in an earlier thread, since upgrading iPhone 4S from 5.1.1 to 6, the WiFi option is turned OFF and is greyed out/disabled. Have tried all combinations of hard/soft reboots, router resets, network settings reset, cleared cookies, etc. Nothing. The WiFi option is completely disabled.

WiFi worked fine prior to iOS 6. Now I can't turn it on. My wife's WiFi is fine, she can toggle on/off and hasn't had any other connectivity issues as reported by others.

I am having the same issue - i have tried resetting the network, turning on and off the mail, contacts and calendar options, but nothing enables the Wi-Fi to become active. The strange thing is that it worked for awhile after I upgraded to iOS 6, but this week it is not working. I too am disappointed in Apple for not having this issue fixed with obviously so many people affected!

again in case people really cant read or can t beleive or whatever

1 charge phone

2 TRICK WORKS ONLY ON iphone 4/4s (only) with wifi greyed out and freezer trick working on it(try freezer thing only once pls) and you have to have a valid wifi address(settings/general/info)havent tried on no wifi and no mac/wifi address please report if it worked on it.

3 YOU NEED TO START CAMERA SO THAT YOU ENABLE FLASHLIGHT DURING ALL RECORDING TIME(with this you will heat your upper part of the iphone for at least 20 / 30 minutes)

4 reboot phone

5 YOUR WIFI LOST WITH 6.0 OR 6.0.1 UPDATE IS GOING TO BE COMPLETELY FIXED.

Weird Weird Weird

The H1nt run down battery through movie with flash on worked. The wifi switch now works and I can get a wifi link. all of which is great, although it drops off the link frequently and just cant seem to hold it for more than a minute or two at a time.

All very odd.

Upside is at least id does enable me to use my phone while overseas

Will definitely be taking it back to Apple when back in London

I'm not really sure how you guys did it, my wifi is still not working

1. charged iPhone

2. started recording while flash is on (yes it heats up after 15 minutes and my iphone disables the flash as it says the handset should cool down first)

3. did a reboot, and I still can't toggle my wifi back on, did I miss something?

yes, freezer technique worked on ,my 4s before and I'm not doing that anymore xs

I have bug with 4S and Wifi greyed out.

Problem was solved by complete discharging iPhone by video recording with flashlight on (thermal protection turned flashlight off after about 40 minutes); few calls and the phone turned off.

After charging and switching on, Wifi worked.

All previous manipulation - update to 6.0.1, full reset, network settings reset, restore from the backup, battery disconection didn't help.
