bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Ok, i just updated to iOS6 today. I jump in my car to drive home, and now my radio ( pioneer svh-p3400BH) no longer shows any sont info when bluetooth streaming. I used to get artist, album, and song info. Also, when i connect it via USB, i no longer get genra infr ( pop/rock, classical, ect).

Any ideas? if this a firmware on Pioneers side, or is the blue tooth messed up in iOS6?

You can still turn your iphone into a wifi hotspot and connect the MBP to it. Have you tried pairing it to a Apple Macbook via Bluetooth? I was only trying to do this to establish what profiles are availible on the iphone as the Bluetooth manager tells you once you have paired it. Just shocked to find it wont pair and i was trying to find out if any on else experiences that. Looking at another thread it appears that someone discovered this problem with Ios6 beta 3 release.

I turned my car off 4 or 5 times last night, and my iPhone reconnected each time I turned it back on with full control and metadata. I don't know if a kink just had to be worked out, or if the iOS 6 platform will revert back to losing function with my head unit, but if I have to close all apps and power down real fast as I'm walking to my car until a firmware upgrade comes out, I can deal with that.

Originally I'm coming from another thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4318307?start=0&tstart=0), but the reply of nikB123 got me here and I want to add something to the discussion, so Apple perhaps understands what problems the cause with there Update to iOS 6!

I have also bluetoothproblems with my iPhone 4S and my Wireless Beats (V2) Headphones, since the Update to iOS 6!

Especially with Audiobooks and Podcasts the iPhone cuts out every couple seconds everytime it gets to the next chapter. Sometime I can’t hear the music or the Audiobook/ Podcast anymore, but the iPhone continues to play it.

By the way the “remote” controls on my headphone aren't working properly as well. Sometimes the iPhone gets my commands, sometimes not.

When I use the cable with the Beats Headphones or my older iPod (3GS Gen. with Bluetooth, but without the Softwareupdate) I have neither of this problems!

I’m very disappointed by Apple! This is the worst Softwareupdate I have seen jet from them and the headphone were very expensive! 😠

Ok. Here's something which I found just then. My iphone 4S which I have upgraded with iOS 6 is pretty much useless when it comes to controling the music using car steering controls as others here have experienced.

However, to my surprise, my wife's iphone 4, which I upgraded with iOS 6 worked perfectly fine with steering controls. I was surprised, but ohh well, at least one of ours works.

I am not sure whether this issue is isolated to iphone 4S now. In any case, hope apple fixes the issues soon.

"- seems to be quite a complex problem."

It is.... Last night found out my phone no longer powers off. Everytime I try to, it just restarts by itself.

And just when I thought I was over Apple, never again.. I went and bought the new iPad for my wifey :-). In the hope that one fine day, Apple will fix the issues and the world will be a better place again..hehe

I have an Alpine Bluetooth device and since updating my Iphone4S to iOS6 my system won't resume playing my songs. I have to manual press start on my phone to make it play or change songs even- My Alpine device won't forward/back / pause/play when pressed anymore! This is so frustrating and unsafe!!!

I'm considering downgrading back to iOS 5.1 as it was working fine before Apple came out with the upgraded software.

Good luck !!! Havent heard of anyone downgrading successfully. I have tried doing that using a couple of vids on google. No luck. I gave up, just waiting on Apple to fix their OS.

Please let us know if you manage to rollback to iOS 5 successfully

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Super not happy. Tried factory resetting to an old back up - didn't work for those who are considering trying. Apple might as well as turned my phone into a flip phone by doing this. I'm headed to the store and will demand a replacement with 5.0 software on it. I highly doubt warranty replacements will have 6.0 on it by now. I suggest everyone with this issue does the same thing.

Ill throw in my experiences I have had thus far.

I have the Pioneer Avh-2400bt.

First off.. iPhone 4s on 5.1.1 worked perfectly.

Upgraded the iPhone 4s to 6.0. Like most lost the Play,Pause,Etc.. via Bluetooth. Also there was no tag info on the screen, just a "No Data Provided" on the screen..Phone still made calls though. Using the Pioneer cable(usb/aux) I could still control the phone including all playlists and videos and even app mode. Pandora worked as well.

Not a big deal but the having to plug in the phone kina ***** 😟

So now the iPhone 5 running 6.0.. Bluetooth streaming is fine and so are phone calls but still getting a "No Data Provided" on the head unit. I can also stream Pandora and Sirius via Bluetooth but cannot control play, pause, skip track and there are no tags on the head unit.

So for fun I tried out the lightning connector that goes with the iPhone 5. It plugs into my USB Drive in my head unit.. I can control all music features, playlists, shuffle, repeat, and even Pandora stations show all the info. It also charges the phone =)

What I tried but couldn't get to work was Videos. The option is greyed out. Its most liekly due to the fact that the video portion is controlled thru the AUX port and not the usb port. Thats what I read anyway. For the same reason as videos I cannot get APP mode to work.

For now i'll just plug in my phone when i wanna listen to music. I cant stand not having the tags showing up.

But as soon as either Pioneer or Apple release an update I will for sure go back to Bluetooth streaming =)

I have an iPhone4 and a Pioneer AVH-P2400BT car unit. I've upgraded to IOS 6. The update (from what I've tried and what I can tell) is NOT reversible.

Here's what I've found happening between the iPhone & Pioneer for bluetooth streaming audio:

1. The track/artist info no longer displays.

2. The track skip buttons no longer function.

3. The pause/play button no longer functions. It may SEEM like it does, but it simply mutes the audio, the content continues to play (silently) on the iPhone.

4. The content no longer resumes when the vehicle is started.

5. The content will pause when the vehicle is turned off, but a couple of seconds continue (silently) on the iPhone.

6. If content is paused by the vehicle being turned off, it will resume playing on the iPhone speakers following an incoming phone call, whether answered or not. (This can be a little embarrassing, depending on the content of your prefferred podcasts! 😊 )
