bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Pioneer AVH-P3400BH. Same here, no track data but I cas pause it from radio screen. Also, using Siri while listening to bluetooth audio puts the radio in a wierd state where the sound is muted but the audio track is still progressing. I don't know if it's an Apple bug or a Pioneer bug.

The only way to fix the problem right now is to revert back to iOS 5.1.1, and the only way you are going to be able to do that is to get a new iPhone 4s preloaded with iOS 5.1.1. See my earlier post about getting a free exchange at the Apple store if your phone is less than a year old (which it will be right now if it's a 4s).

Yeah, my attempt to downgrade my 4S just failed. This is so depressing. "device not eligible for this build".

AVH-P2400BT / iPhone 4S

Features lost include artist, song, etc. info. It used to start playing where it left off regardless of whether I was using Pandora, Rdio, etc. One thing I noticed too is even plugged in USB, I don't get track information. I bought the stereo less than 2 months ago. I really hope one side or the other will fix this.

It's been a couple days now that I have had this problem but Over time it has actually fixed itself.

Applied IOS 6 update

First couple times of connection I had all the same problems but my iPhone now seems to be connecting without any flaws whatsoever.

I'm not sure how it fixed itself but maybe it just needs time to learn the device after applying the IOS 6 update.

I have had the same problem with the iPhone 5 only. All other devices with IOS6 work, it is because of the BT 4.0 introduction.

I contacted Ford Sync and are aware of the issue, but its not on their end, especially since all other devices works. I can take calls through the system but BlueTooth Audio with iPhone5 does not work.

Because Apple may not have done anything wrong.

The entire phone industry is driven by new features and the latest protocols, not backwards compatibility.

Backwards compatibility is guaranteed in the protocols; Apple's not responsible if the device implementors got it wrong.

That's the way protocols work; the parties on both sides have to properly implement their side of a protocol for things to work.

As I've said previously, this isn't a hard issue for those with the equipment to diagnose, and the fact that none of the companies with devices having this issue have yet to definitively stated it's Apple's bug seems to indicate it may not be.

Any enthusiast site with a BT-compliant app or device and a BT protocol analyzer could look at the data stream and know within minutes if Apple was sending properly compliant metadata or not (and many of them are not exactly fond of Apple and would delight in such), and we haven't seen any of those sites post about it (yet) either.

I have the same issue on Pioneer AVH-2450bt, I can´t have song information and either play/pause songs from the Pioneer.

I would love to get back to iOs 5.1.1 but I can´t do it because I don´t have a jailbreak device.

I hope Apple fix this ASAP otherwise I will start considering that Apple is no longer top quality company anymore.

Have you tried notifying Volkswagen and/or your dealer's service department?

If you got new tires and a wheel bearing seized, would you blame say Michelin, since everything worked just fine with your old tires?

I just rented a new Ford Explorer from Avis. I connected my Sprint Blackberry and my IPhone 5. Blackberry works fine. IPhone 5 has the same issue as other posts. Handsfree phone works but audio controls do not work. To that end, I'd expect that Apple will be on this.

Also can not get mine to work on a Kenwood DNX6190HD, worked perfect with iPhone 4 and iOS 5 but iPhone 5 and iOS 6 do not work right. It plays songs through bluetooth but none of the stereo or stearing wheel controls work and there is no song metadata. Both those things worked before and were a huge reason I bought this head unit. Apple better get this fixed soon!

Ok i had a go at trying to connect my iphone 4s to my Mac book pro running the latest mountain lion version. Some thing that worked in ios5.1.1 does not work in ios6. In my bluetooth manager i can see the profile for my iphone (when it was ios5.1.1) and it displays that the device has the avrcp protocol enabled.

So its not just other devices but also macintosh products affected. Anyone else tried connecting iphone to MBP via bluetooth?? (Should i start a new thread??)

I'm having the same issue with a Pioneer DEH-P9400BH. I had the problem with my iphone 4S and now with my iphone 5 (which was setup as new and not restored from backup). hoping for a fix to this asap!

I have also bluetoothproblems with my iPhone 4S and my Wireless Beats (V2) Headphones, since the Update to iOS 6!

Especially with Audiobooks and Podcasts the iPhone cuts out every couple seconds everytime it gets to the next chapter. Sometime I can’t hear the music or the Audiobook/ Podcast anymore, but the iPhone continues to play it.

By the way the “remote” controls on my headphone aren't working properly as well. Sometimes the iPhone gets my commands, sometimes not.

When I use the cable with the Beats Headphones or my older iPod (3GS Gen. with Bluetooth, but without the Softwareupdate) I have neither of this problems!

I’m very disappointed by Apple! This is the worst Softwareupdate I have seen jet from them and the headphone were very expensive! 😠

I contacted Subaru, they have no issued any update nor are they working on any update, but there is a solution. On the vehicle there is two ways of setting up the bluetooth, via the head unit, and via the voice commands on from the steering wheel controls. I tried to do it according to the voice command and all is completely cured. Iphone 5 automatically connects to my bluetooth audio and shows tracks and everything, fully functional. Hope the rest of you guys are able to figure it out! Weird that it would work on some manufacturers, but not others. Maybe subaru was already ahead of the game on the bluetooth software.

I am have just upgraded phone to a 5 as well as the ioS6. The bluetooth is not syncing with my phone to my car which is a Ford Edge. Very frustrating...have to use USB in the mean time. Ford Sync customer service assistance said that there would be an announcement via Apple sometime in October about this issue.
