bluetooth music issues after iOS6 update

Ok, i just updated to iOS6 today. I jump in my car to drive home, and now my radio ( pioneer svh-p3400BH) no longer shows any sont info when bluetooth streaming. I used to get artist, album, and song info. Also, when i connect it via USB, i no longer get genra infr ( pop/rock, classical, ect).

Any ideas? if this a firmware on Pioneers side, or is the blue tooth messed up in iOS6?

From Pioneer support this afternoon,

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with the iOS 6 update.

Our engineers are currently working with Apple to see if there is something we can do to restore the metadata from the Bluetooth Audio streaming.

Sincerely,

Rocky

Kenwood knows there is an issue, as do most at this point. (I don't work for Kenwood, but have talked with techs there, and there is a post on here from them too).

I've tested my 4 running 6.0 on a few units and there are issues, and they vary from brand to brand and model to model (tested JVC, Pioneer, Kenwood so far).

The OS has been offical for a few days, give people at chance to test things and see what's up. If you want to get mad at someone the priority levels would be:

1. Bluetooth Association for having so many variences and options within their standard - read it, it's brutal how many optin's and out's their are. As well for not building in better legacy support assurances into their spec.

2. Apple for not providing hardware and software beta's earlier, and with longer test windows

3. Manufactuers for not being more proactive in testing this stuff - but with so many models and phones etc - it's tough to do without full completion of #1 & #2.

FWIW, BT streaming continues to work perfectly with complete metadata and control on my Toyota factory audio system (2011 FJ Cruiser), so it does appear to be an issue with some manufacturers but not others.

By the way, various builds of iOS 6 have been available to the development community for several months, so perhaps these audio manufacturers should have done a little more testing themselves.
