iOS 6 iTunes Match - How to download single song

Hi,

Is there any possibility how to download a single song from iTunes Match in iOS 6? All the iCloud icons disappeared (except for whole album). And how to recognize which songs are downloaded and which are just in the cloud?

iPhone 4, iOS 6

That only works if you're home or have your macbook with you. I'm at work for hours at a time and usually make my playlists on my phone when I have breaks (I don't work traditional hours and sometimes have 90-120 minutes between appointments). So for me, it doesn't work. I also can't change my mind about a playlist update it on the go. This is just an un-acceptable degradation of service, especially when google play allows this same functioality. I'm hoping this was just an oversight and will fixed quickly.

I can't help feeling like it is the kind of inattention to detail that would've gotten someone fired while Steve Jobs was alive.

I totaly agree. This is not a free standard feature. We are paying extra for this service. The very least they could have done is send us an email explaining the changes to our PAID service. I'm wirting in some feedback and emailing them about this as a loss of functionality issue. I dont know about you guys, but i'm cancelling my subscription untill they fix this.

Woah this is a huge step back in using the iTunes Match service. They should definitely fix this soon. Besides all the bad maps app, everybody is complaining about, this is a topic that should receive way more attention. I mean this is a service we've paid for and it's absolutely useless this way. This way my data plan will blow up and it would take up so much more space for songs I don't want to listen to when I'm on the go. People need to complain about this!

I agree. Downloading a single song was the best part of iTunes Match. I do like streaming song in the cloud instead of it downloading and filling up my phone. To download a single song I created a playlist called download then add the song to the playlist. When it's on the playlist I can download it. Then when it's done downloading I clear the playlist. It's kinda like the download folder on your computer.

I know it's ridiculous! I really hope they change this feature soon, it makes no sense. You download songs to your phone based upon your tastes for the day. I pay for this service!!!! I think the streaming service is finally a great thing. Streaming to the phone before was terrible at best. Now it plays without a hitch over 3G. Please update music app to distinguish which songs you have downloaded or not, and the ability to download individual songs.

I'm in the same boat as all of you... I'm going to call and complain on Monday; if still having problems going to cancel service. This is total bs for paying customers to be shafted when doing an upgrade. One of the biggest reasons to own an iphone or ipad is the wonderful media abilities. When your media ability is completely removed, why stay?

Guys

I have a partial solution but please don't shoot me down if what I suggest has already been discussed and rubbished.

A pretty easy solution to this (though by no means perfect) is to go to your album and press download all. Then when the download circles appear next to all the songs tap the download circles of all the songs you do not want and they disappear. Only the song/songs with the circles next to them download to local storage. It usually takes quite a few seconds to begin downloading anything anyway so you have time.

It works for me so I thought I'd pass it on. It's stil just a workaround though.

Hey everyone. I did my part!! I just send Apple the complain. It seams that they did this to make carrieres win more money by charging us for bigger data plans. This is a mobile phone and is not allways connected to wifi. I live in Venezuela and data plans are not unlimited and they dont come cheap
