iOS 6 problems on iPod touch 4Gen

This message is addressed to Apple Support and it's users.

Yesterday I restored(as new) my iPod to the new iOS firmware. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems: high level of performance degradation - a main problem; AppStore and Maps loading very slow; crashing of games, Safari and other problems. You can complete this list too. Write your problems in this topic and i hope, that Apple will answer us by releasing iOS 6.0.1 with fixed bugs.

Thanks for support!

Now that I've updated my ipod touch 4g to ios 6, I can no longer sync or alter the ipod in any way through itunes because my mac os (10.5.8) doesn't support the newest version of itunes ! I get a message box telling me i need itunes 10.6.3 in order to sync my ipod, but that version is nowhere to be found! All links lead to 10.7!! Why can't this stuff be backwards compatible anymore? Guess I have to restore back to ios 5, but will i be able to get the 5.1 update anymore?

Well, it appears the problems I was having was definelty due to a botched install which I did directly from the iPod via WIFI. After doing a restore in recovery mode via iTunes everything seems to be working good in iOS6. Too early to tell for sure as only time will tell as to how well iOS6 performs on the iPod Touch 4G as I use it more extensively. But every thing seems fluid and error free so far. Yay, the music app opens. LOL. But I had about 10 apps open, listening to music while viewing the new maps, playing a game etc and it all seemed to flow fine.

I'd like to thank the Apple techs who helped me sort this out...

The worst part is I use the iPod as a song writing tool with GarageBand. My last backup was in April. Didn't realize I wrote so many songs since then but I lost a bunch, probably over 10. I'll never get those back. But the good new is iOS6 can back everything up to iCloud so it shouldn't happen again.

Can't really say what's better about iOS6 at this point besides iCloud inclusion looks very extensive, like everything.

Even though it's my fault for not doing a backup before the install, that doesn't excuse Apple with the botched install. That should not happen.

I upgraded to iOS 6 with my Touch 4g 64gb and crashed when I tried to sync podcasts, apps, and it put I pod in restore mode. After restoring again I was able to load podcasts and a few apps. However it still crashed no matter what I did, email, twitter, games, App Store. I could listen to podcasts for about 1 day without crashing. It went back into restore mode and now hangs "waiting for ipod" with apple logo on ipod screen with a progress bar at 0%. I have tried restoring 22 times since then with same results, I have waited for the ipod for over 12 hours as some say it can take several hours. I have used DFU mode, not DFU mode, other usb ports, other cables, other computers, all with the same results "waiting for ipod" with apple logo on ipod screen with a progress bar at 0%.

I also noticed when in iTunes it has Name: IPod , Capacity: n/a, Software Version:N/a,, Serial Number:n/a.

At this point I have a $400 paper weight.

I've updated my iPod 4th generation 8gb to iOS 6.0.0. I've waited for about five hours, when the update was almost complete, it said that there was something error and unfortunately my iPod was restored acidentally and i lost all my data.

the worst part of all is, when i want to download all those stuff on app store, it keeps saying "cannot connect to itunes store" i dont know what happen. i tried many times to log in to apple store but it doesnt work. i've tried to restore it again, and log in again, then fix my wifi connection, but nothing happens. i still cant connect to my apple id. now i have nothing to do with my ipod because all my data has gone!

please, anyone know what i should do? i just need to connect to itunes...
