iOS 6 problems on iPod touch 4Gen

This message is addressed to Apple Support and it's users.

Yesterday I restored(as new) my iPod to the new iOS firmware. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems: high level of performance degradation - a main problem; AppStore and Maps loading very slow; crashing of games, Safari and other problems. You can complete this list too. Write your problems in this topic and i hope, that Apple will answer us by releasing iOS 6.0.1 with fixed bugs.

Thanks for support!

So far I am having problems with just about every application since installing iOS6. Even in settings the auto-lock doesn't work, email crashes, App store doesn't work, music, isn't working right, safari is useless it crashes so often. Probably many other apps I haven't even tried yet don't work. I haven't even tried a sync yet and EVERYTHING IS INCREDIBLY SLOW.

Why would Apple release this with so many problems?

Where is the best place to complain? I really regret downloading the new iOS6.

Possible Solution that I might of found.

1st. I backuped to my iCloud

2nd. Went into

>Settings

>Reset

>Erase All Content and Settings

3rd. I set it up as new

4rth. I went to App Store

5rth. I went to Genuis and no crashes yet.

6th. I went to Search and search Angry Birds, it crashed once.

7th. I went to iTunes

8th. I went to Search

9th. No crashes yet.

10th. I went back to App Store and went back to Genuis (no crashes) and went to Search and search Temple Run and then Angry Birds, it loaded just fine with no crashes.

What my theory is when our data got updated to the new IOS version and we backed it up, and then reset the ipod and try to set it up from our backup and still had problems, my theory is that our backup with the new IOS got currupted by going throu iTunes or OTA. While other people didn't.

I went to BestBuy Wedesday and tryed there iPod Touch 4G 32gigs that is on display, it is running IOS 6 and I run the App Store and the iTunes. The Search and the Genuis tab, i search alot of things and guess what, it did not crash. So i talked to one of the BestBuy people that was working there and he doesnt have any idea to help me but his iPhone 4 running ios 6 is running perfectly fine.

There was no Apple People there that day to ask them about it.

I'll come back after I reset it and restore from my iCloud if its still existing. If so, So totaly unfair that we have to lose our app data to have these 2 apps working correctly..

Like I said in my Theory, its just a Theory i came accross doing it to let you guys know.

Yeah! the same thing happened to me./...what should I do?

I would suggest unplugging your device and power it off, if the power button will not power it off, then hold both the power and home buttons down until the device is forced to shutdown. Next, hold the home button down while connected it to the computer, do not release the home button until it shows the connect to iTunes logo, and do a restore. If iTunes still does not recognize the device, then put it into DFU mode.

1. Connect the device to iTunes

2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously

3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed

4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.

That should solve your situation.

I've updated mine too and it was a complete waste. I used my Ipod all the time and now it's not even worth turning on. All of my apps crash - my games, the app store when searching, safari, everything. It's upsetting and it's really starting to get annoying. Imessage doesn't load my messages on it's own anymore. I have to open the Imessage app then close it for it to send me my messages. Everything is also very slow. Basically I can't do anything on it anymore because every app will crash when I'm in the middle of doing something or reading something. Apple really needs to fix this and soon because I'm almost fed up and ready to get rid of it.

App Store crashes consistently. Today Twitter, Instagram, and News360 all got stuck downloading and are now unusable. I have done everything the internet has offered over the last 6 hours. Everything is still stuck.

This is unacceptable.

Push out those incremental updates Apple, get it fixed or allow people to downgrade easily while it gets sorted.

I had the same problem with my Ipod 4g after upgrading to iOS 6. Apple sold me a new one as a replacement for $99 since my Ipod was out of warranty. Same problem occurred with the new one. Spent 2 hours with tech support - apple care - yesterday and then I was bumped up to a supervisor. After troubleshooting, they are sending the issue to an apple engineer to determine if the iOS 6 is problematic on the Ipod 4g (which we know it is). If so, they will have to work on fixing it.

I upgraded to iOS 6 with my Touch 4g 64gb and crashed when I tried to sync podcasts, apps, and it put I pod in restore mode. After restoring again I was able to load podcasts and a few apps. However it still crashed no matter what I did, email, twitter, games, App Store. I could listen to podcasts for about 1 day without crashing. It went back into restore mode and now hangs "waiting for ipod" with apple logo on ipod screen with a progress bar at 0%. I have tried restoring 22 times since then with same results, I have waited for the ipod for over 12 hours as some say it can take several hours. I have used DFU mode, not DFU mode, other usb ports, other cables, other computers, all with the same results "waiting for ipod" with apple logo on ipod screen with a progress bar at 0%.

I also noticed when in iTunes it has Name: IPod , Capacity: n/a, Software Version:N/a,, Serial Number:n/a.

At this point I have a $400 paper weight.
