ios 6 slow

Yes, App Store seems slow and sometimes buggy on my new iPad.

I updated my iPod Tough 4G successfully using the iOS5s software update on iPod. However, nothing works. Everything is crash crash crash and extremely unresponsive. For instance the music app is a white screen then it crashes. I have a couple app updates that have been in progress for over 12 hours with no progress. It takes like 10 minutes for the iPod to be ready in iTunes and I can not do a back up.

I'm hoping it's just a bad install. If I can do a backup I'll try a clean install, or try one and just lose data. At this point the only thing the iPod is good for is the garbage.

I have just upgraded my Iphone 4 to iOS 6 and like you guys nothing is working properly. App Store is stuck.. MAIL client is unresponsive. This is quite a scare considering I have pre-ordered Iphone 5.

I am sure that the iPhone 5 will handle iOS6 much better. It has a better system and was meant for it.

I don't think you have to worry about the newer devices.

i know that it's normal for an update to be a good thing and that this OS should make things faster if anything,

Hum... Never, in yrs, has a new OS been faster or "good"; plus, I would avoid ".0" just as with 5.0 etc or pre-SP1 or 10.8.0 etec.

bought iPod 4G Touch year ago, plan on staying on iOS 5.1.1 until I buy a new Touch or forced

I agree with a slower ios 6 on iphone 4. Messed up my music playlists also. Can i revert to the old ios 5 software?

Updated my 4s to the iOS yesterday... Today the battery is dying quickly.. The screen goes black randomly.... Closes out of programs randomly... Calls are disappearing mid-conversation.... This is bad... Love the new features but doesn't matter if the phone doesn't work. I'm sure there is a fix coming. I just hope it's soon. I'm hoping to restore back to the old IOS.... Just unsure of the process

I updated by 4S when iOS 6 was first available. I have improved battery life and no problems.

I'm with all the folks that feel like the iOS 6 "upgrade" feels a bit, um, wiggly. The first thing I noticed was that the App Store is buggy. I was shocked when my store credits disappeared, telling me I had 57 cents in my account, until, thankfully, my correct balance reappeared after I logged out then back in. I also noticed that it is slow enough for me to not want to use it. I loved the speed of my ipad! Now it feels a bit bloated : (

I can't say anything about Maps and YouTube that hasn't been said a million times already... except... I was one button push away from switching out my 2 year old Verizon Android for an iPhone 5. After the iOS 6 upgrade, I have decided to wait and do some more shopping around.

Because of ram. iPod 4. Gen has 256 ram. But there is a solution if apple developers work hard and optimize iOS 6 for iPod iOS 6 can run faster(i don't think so they won't do it i thing) I ve got same problems, just wait for new iOS version and keep multitasking bar empty.

Well, it appears the problems I was having was definelty due to a botched install which I did directly from the iPod via WIFI. After doing a restore in recovery mode via iTunes everything seems to be working good in iOS6. Too early to tell for sure as only time will tell as to how well iOS6 performs on the iPod Touch 4G as I use it more extensively. But every thing seems fluid and error free so far. Yay, the music app opens. LOL. But I had about 10 apps open, listening to music while viewing the new maps, playing a game etc and it all seemed to flow fine.

I'd like to thank the Apple techs who helped me sort this out...

The worst part is I use the iPod as a song writing tool with GarageBand. My last backup was in April. Didn't realize I wrote so many songs since then but I lost a bunch, probably over 10. I'll never get those back. But the good new is iOS6 can back everything up to iCloud so it shouldn't happen again.

Can't really say what's better about iOS6 at this point besides iCloud inclusion looks very extensive, like everything.

Even though it's my fault for not doing a backup before the install, that doesn't excuse Apple with the botched install. That should not happen.

I'm sorry to tell you that a "botched install" never gives performance errors.

A bad installation will never end up with a new iOS version on your iDevice. Who are you kidding @WDI? Are your comments paid by Apple? ^.<

iPod touch 4g at this version (iOS 6.0) has poor performance and the experience is quite sad. As @thevolta89 is complaining and @DrTechnology says one of the reasons might be the lack of RAM and this is quite disappointing.

Why is Apple offering a new iOS update (iOS 6) on the iPod touch 4G when the experience is getting worse!. Is this a new feature? U.U#

I hope as @DrTechnology says Apple engineers work hard and optimize iOS 6 for iPod touch 4G and improve the experience and don't give up new improvements

It is because it will only work on some divices. Check and see what divice it is.

Well that's what happened to me. I couldn't do anything. Now it's running pretty good. The App Store app is shaky. And typing this out in safari is also. But for the most part it's running smooth as far as I can tell at this point.

Look, I don't care if you believe me or not. Just reporting what happened to me. No need to call me a lier and be so cynical.

I'm still just getting into using it with iOS 6. So I'm not by any means an expert.
