How do I resolve a failed download, "Use Purchases Page to download again"..

I'm on the Purchases page and trying to download iBomber Defense. It's not working for over a day. I'm running OS 10.8.2. 86MB of 96MB have already been downloaded.

There is nothing on the Launch Pad or in the Applications folder to delete. When I try again on the Purchases Page as the App Store requires, it starts the download at that 86MB mark and then immediately says the error again. I'm on the Purchases Page when it tells me this error, so it's ticking me off. I have no apparent resolution.

Does anyone know how to resolve an error like this? All of the fixes seems to say to delete the file that was partially downloaded but I can't find it anywhere so I'm lost on that. Any recommendations would be appreciated. It would seem to me be a problem with the App Store downloader as opposed to something the publisher can fix.

I can confirm this. Apparently there needs to be parity between iTunes and OS for App Store to work.

I just made a fresh install on a new HD of yosemite 10.10.5 - App store working fine - after downgrading itunes from 12 to 11.4 - App Store gives the Use Purchases Page to download again".. error - same seems to be the case when on maverick trying to downgrade to 10.7

Considering how horrible slow iTunes 12 is - this is pretty infuriating - i've been looking into this a fair bit and will try to see if there's is a low level hack - for now there's now obvious quick fix except upgrading to 12 in order for you to use the App store and then downgrade back to 11.4 when you want to listen to your music without waiting 20 minute for that steaming pile of turds that is itunes 12 to load your library ...
