Same problem here also. Downloaded i0S 6 yesterday and all worked ok until this afternoon. Had apps to update and I was prompted to login to the App Store (that didn't happen earlier today) and now I am told that either my username of password is incorrect. They are the same (the same as I use to login to this forum). Is this something that I should just wait out? I did the shutdown and restart of the iPad as recommended in this thread, but the result is the same. When I logged in earlier it looks like I had four apps that are stuck on "downloading." Can't get back to that point now.

Similar problem too, since update yesterday I can't download new apps... I click install app, then I click not now to the Improve apple ID security, then it just goes back to the app page and the button says free....I signed out and in and nothing changed... Will I never get a new app for my iPad? If I click continue to security it locks up and the screen is all white....

I've got a similar problem. I have an iPhone 4S. I downloaded ios6 and I lost all the apps I had purchased, but were not installed on my phone I also lost all my music And audiobooks. When I go to both the iTunes and the App Store both locations tell me there are no apps or music files to download. I went to the App Store and looked up one of the apps I had purchased and wanted to redone load and it wanted me to purchase it again.

I found one solution. Download or update the applicaiton in itunes in your PC first. After downloading, sync the same applicaiton with your iphone/ipod. Still Iphone will not allow you to install the apps. Those applications will only be donwloaded/transfered to iphone stating "installing". In order to install the application, just turn off the wi-fi or mobile internet network. It will allow you to install the app.
