Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment. Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore. I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password" (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues. My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.

Same problem here. Updated to ioS 6, and now my Netgear router at home won't let me connect. I have tried:

-Reset iPhone

-Reset router

-Turn airplane mode on/off

-Change HTTP proxy to AUTO

-Remove all security on router

Nothing works. My iPhone has worked perfectly on my home network for years, now refuses to connect with ioS 6. After a week, I've already hit my data cap thanks to no WiFi. PLEASE GET THIS FIXED.

I have tried literally EVERYTHING at my workplace and nothing works. I cannot get past the Apple login page to get to our company login.

However, I have no problem at home. I clicked my home network, it asked for a password, I typed it in and I was connected.

I have turned off WiFi at work because my iPhone 4 and my new generation iPad keep trying to connect and bringing up that stupid Apple Login success page. I have noticed that when some people get the page they can click "done" and all is well. When I get the page my only option is to cancel. This immediately disconnects WiFi before I have a chance to login to my company system.

I hoe that someone out there has a major network news media connection. I seems that national front page coverage may be the only way to light a fire under Apple.

It would be nice if Apple techs would read our posts, because this length of time with no statement from the company

acknowledging the issue is really lame. They seem to think the reinstatement of the Apple login page has fixed the issue when for many of us it has had the opposite effect.

Pretty soon we will all be silent when we run out of our cellular data and still have no WiFi.

Steve Jobs would expect better from his company.

To be clear, my issue has nothing to do with the Apple success page. In fact, I've never even seen that when trying to connect to wifi. All that happens to me is clicking the network, the onscreen wheel spins, and then a popup on the iPhone screen (a system popup, not a web page) says "connection to network failed".

I've seen some netgear users saying that downgrading router firmware to an old version solves the issue, but that's totally unacceptable.

I have the same issue too. I updated my iPad to iOS6 now I can't connect to my NetGear router. Things I’ve tried:

  • Updated the firmware on the router
  • Removed all security from the router WiFi
  • Changed the router channel to 11
  • Changed the router to g only
  • Reset the iPad
  • Reset network settings on iPad

None of these things worked. FIX THIS ISSUE APPLEE!!!

Hi Everyone, Ive tried pretty much all these suggested solutions. It appears to be a fair comment and say there is a Problem with the OS6 upgrade.

Upgrading/Downgrading WAP Firmwares is unacceptable for a fix, rule this one out

Here's something to compare:

I have just compared 2 Iphone 4s Phones at work, my PA's Iphone 4s and my own Iphone 4s. both IOS6 Upgrade, my PA's work OK, mine doesnt.

This is the difference i found below

Model , ICCI, Modem which are located in Settings, General, About

These seems to make the Iphone 4s's and other devices "unique". It seems they all dont have the same FIRMWARE etc based on the hardware components used to drive the Model, ICCI and Modem components on the phone.

I encourage everyone to make a comparison.

Im summary, having 2 IDENTICAL Iphone 4s's in my workplace, one works and one doesnt ?, we're talking firmware issues with respect to the Model, ICCI or Modem Firmware that drives the hardware on the devices. This isnt talking to the IOS6 too well.

If this doesnt get resolved soon, i guess the next step or lodge a complaint to the Australian Communication Ombusman OR i'll be walking in to an Apple Store demanding a REPLACEMENT Iphone 4s since you cant revert back to IOS5. Its not a consumers fault this problem as occured

Its more a lack of testing id say... rushed off the production line faster than normal especially with respect to scratch marks and other issues along the way.

I bought my iPad 3 Sep 18. It came with ios 5.1.1, and I upgraded to ios 6 on Sep 22.

Before and after the upgrade to 6, the iPad worked fine with my home wifi and with Optimum Online wifi hotspots at three locations in my town.

Perhaps those of you with wifi problems have older iPad 3's than I do, and might need firmware upgrades from Apple. (Just a guess)

Hi back from the apple store and thought I would give everyone an update.

I explained my issues and that I ha tried all solutions suggested above. Although I had wifi connectivity in the apple store (typical) it clearly wasn't strong and when compared to the iPad the genius was using it was pretty awful. She had about 10 wifi hotspots on hers I only had the one which wasn't working properly. As a result she gave me a replacement iPhone 5 then and there and fingers crossed so far it's working. I explained that it wasn't just about resetting my router and that its not picking up wifi anywhere and she seemed to think it was a hardware problem, not software at least that's what she wrote down on her report. She also said she hadn't heard Of any iPhone 5 issues despite the person next to me having very similar issues.

Hopefully this will continue to work but I suggest for anyone with an iPhone 5 who is having problems, take it into a store an get them to replace it as its under warranty. I know this doesn't help everyone but hopefully some!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions over the last couple of days.

I am discovering more and more things my ipad 3 cannot do as the week goes on. Additional to the "cannot connect to itunes store" and not being able to download any app, update any app, songs ANYTHING to do with itunes. Or ANYTHING to do with pictures, adding to email, twitter, facebook etc.

In safari, a lot of pages time out. Telstra pages timed out on me. I cannot do a status update on facebook. First I thought i could just not add pictures. But can't update status. now these aren't world dilemas by any means, but this is the sort of stuff i use my ipad on wifi for. Now, it doesn't work.

It's funny I can browse a lot of things but if it's a site which has a lot of gif's on it, it times out.

I am expecting a new router soon. But it shouldn't come down to us having to buy or replace these things. Apple should be fixing it.

I am SO over their lack of help in this. It is like they're ignoring it and it is not actually happening for them.
