Anyone still having IOS 6 wifi issues?

I'm currently waiting on Apple support to call me back about this issue, but I thought I would reach out here to see if anyone else is having similar issues.

I upgraded to IOS 6 yesterday afternoon, and immediately after I could no longer connect to the Wifi at my place of employment. Everyone had this issue, no big deal.

Went home, Wifi worked fine.

Came into work this morning and I am still unable to connect. I have tried all of the various recommended fixes, and even gone so far as to do a complete restore. I work at a university with multiple networks and access points and have tried connecting to several, both secure and unsecure, with no luck.

This is what happens:

Unsecure Networks: Attempt to connect, wheel spins, Error Message: "Unable to Connect"

Secure Network: Attempt to connect, prompted for password, enter password, Error Message: "Incorrect Password" (Yes I entered the correct password, I tried multiple times, and the IT tech was able to connect to it with his iPad 2 running IOS 5)

I am also not the only one, everyone on campus who has upgraded their iPad 3 to IOS 6 is unable to connect. (All staff/factulty have iPads, most have upgraded)

I have spoken with the IT department and they are baffled, they have tried rebooting various routers and access points to no avail.

Obviously there is something different happening in IOS 6 that is causing these issues. My question is has anyone else encoutered this issue, and if so what have you done to fix it?

I have seen people above who have upgraded firmware on their personal wireless routers with success, but for a university with literally hundress of access points and routers this is out of the question, at least in the short term.

SWedel69,

I like the Android comment.

My iPad 3 64gb with LTE & wifi which is only a month old cannot connect to my wifi network - and cellular is too expensive when roaming.

If this is not resolved over the next handful of days, I'm back to my home city for a weekend next weekend and requesting a cash refund - I'll get the new samsung and have plenty of change as a cash refund also........

So much for 'buying the best'.

Yes, that worked for me too! Well done!

again :

NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH

My problem has been solved (fingers crossed, forever)

OK, some of you may have already tried this stuff, however, you MUST do this in a specific sequence for it to work.

Turn off your router

Go to your ipad and RESET NETWORK SETTINGS (for dummies like me who don't know how to do it... go to SETTINGS - GENERAL - RESET - RESET NETWORK SETTINGS.)

Once the ipad comes back on. Turn the router on. Go and turn on your wifi again and it will find the right settings.

Well mine did and I can now do everything I could not do since Sunday.

its become established there is an issue already

I have plastered the problem all over Apples Various forums and also logged a BUG Report

Go to Settings, General, About

Scroll down till you see Modem Firmware

Reply Back with your Modem Firmware

Modem Firmware: 04.12.02

IF your Modem Firmware is lower than the above on Iphone 4S, this is why your WiFi isnt authenticating.

My modem firmware is 3.0.04 on my iPhone 4S and I have no problems authenticating with routers, so I don't think that's the problem.

Actually what you posted makes no sense since the Modem Firmware (i.e. baseband) is for cellular data. It has nothing to do with WiFi. See http://www.beijingiphonerepair.com/news/final-version-of-iphone-4s-modem-firmwar e-baseband-on-ios-4-3-is-4-10-01/

With my iPad [3] with Modem firmware version 2.0.02 I seem to have a problem with some networks and not others!

I can no longer log on to either of the public networks at Manchester Airport (UK), nor the public network at my local National Trust property.

I can still log on to the backstage network in the theatre where I work, but can no longer log on to the front of house network.

At home, previously the iPad latched on to my Time Capsule network but, after applying the iOS6 update, it hooked on to the NetGear DG834G router in preference to the Time Capsule - but this has inexplicably rectified itself without any intervention from me.

Bizarrely, I can no longer sync my iPad wirelessly with iTunes as the application cannot "see" the iPad so I have to sync via USB.

And all this since iOS6 was applied.

drStrageP0rk, how do you suggest that I get all of these unconnected third party providers to upgrade their router firmware, or instal new routers, when the problem clearly stems from Apple?

Whether your contention that it isn't a wifi problem is correct or not, I cannot say as most of this techie stuff is way above my head, but I can't see the world changing just because Apple have FUBARed! And I don't see why my use of my iPad (i've been an Apple man since 1986) should be restricted when out and about for the same reason.
