After updating my iPod Touch 4G (bougth August 2012) to iOS 6, my app store crashes whenever I try to search anything. It's really annoying and I'm wondering whether it is a bug or something else. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if you did how did you fix it? Please help me because it's really frustrating knowing you can't search new apps because your app store crashes all the time.

Yes, many people are currently having this problem. As of this post, my App Store (White iPod touch 4G updated yesterday) is working fine. I guess it's pretty random right now. We'll have to wait it out.
Hey thank you! I found out that it stops if I just shut my ipod down (keep holding sleep button to turn on/off) and on again :)

Hi! Been having the same problem too, I'm using a Touch4. Rebooting the iTouch does not actually resolve the issue. This is a bug that Apple would have to resolve on devices running with an A4 Chip. Some iOS 6 features may only run fully on devices running with an A5 Chip.
I have this problem on my ipod 4g and i have tried conatcting apple but i need to ring them tommorow so i will post any updates if i have any information 🙂
I have contacted apple and they said engineering are working on it and hopefully a solution will be found by wednesday. If not then email's will be sent to everone who is effected.

Was looking at posts about similar issues with iPhone which were caused by placing App Store in folder. I had not done this, but had placed the passport app that downloaded with the newest iPod operating system in a folder. I moved it back onto the desktop, and the App Store no longer crashes.

It actually is the App Store. I moved the App Store out of a folder and it works fine now. I had major crashing issues before.
Yes, super disappointing. You have to work through iTunes Store on a laptop/desktop and synch with your iPod for now. Sure wish I hadn't taken this update. This is the most screwed up thing I have ever seen from Apple: maybe they are losing it...
Foldering App Store actually helped me w Search but Genius and viewing Purchased (top of Update window) still crash...spin spin spin *blackout* home screen (sigh)
Right now, there is actually nothing we can do about this but to wait for Apple's update to fix iOS6 Bugs on earlier iOS device models. Just hope that they do this ASAP or they will trully lose it..
Mine isnt even in a folder and still it keeps crashing and crashing and crashing...
