iPhone 5 Apple.com Orders Showing Oct. 5th Delivery

Hey guys, I ordered my phone on the 14th at 5:30am EST (2:30am PST) so I was 2 and a half hours late. I ordered from Apple.com (which I am regretting now). Anyways, I was curious if anyone ordered around the same time as me and if they were able to get any tracking updates. I tried the "Track By Reference" option while inputting my phone number and nothing is showing up. The only thing that shows is Apple.com saying delivery on Oct. 5th (boo!).

Preorder time is irrelevant my friend. I know I was well after an hour from initial launch of the mobile site, yet I was spot on for the regular site. Some were within minutes of site launch, and nothing has changed for them either. This is most likely an issue of being in que, and your order changes to "preparing of shipment" when your number finally comes up.

I ordered mine at 2:04 am CST. I just received mine. The entire week my status said "preparing for shipment." But I was able to track my order by using the Reference option with UPS, like I have already showed you guys. If you ordered yours an hour later, then it will probably be the two weeks or so.

My status shows Processing Order, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for today. I am going to swing by the AT&T store during lunch and see if they have any 5's in stock (ha!).

UPS doesn't have anything for me yet.

I was kind of hoping that my status wouldn't have changed, that way I could click the "cancel" button as I walked into the store. Now I'll just have to wait it out.

Well, luckily you didn't because I called Apple and they said they take 24 hours to cancel and order so your upgrade pricing wouldn't have been available if you canceled right before you went into the store. I was contemplating doing that as well but I'm glad I called.

Is EDT the same as EST but in different times of the year? I placed mine at 5:30am EST. That's weird yours is preparing for shipment before mine, lol.

Fortunately I didn't upgrade my plan. I knew that if I did, I would be forced into the capped Verizon plans. I wanted to take advantage of the grandfathered unlimited data plan. Consequently, I payed full price for that privelege. What worried me was cancelling and having the money still in pending status (making it not available to use at the store). But I no longer have to worry about that since I'm now locked in....... lol

i did cancel my order on apple's web site then called att right after to reverse the upgrade so i could get upgrade pricing right away. although im not in a rush anymore i just didnt want any issues when i do go to the store.
