iPhone 5 Apple.com Orders Showing Oct. 5th Delivery

Hey guys, I ordered my phone on the 14th at 5:30am EST (2:30am PST) so I was 2 and a half hours late. I ordered from Apple.com (which I am regretting now). Anyways, I was curious if anyone ordered around the same time as me and if they were able to get any tracking updates. I tried the "Track By Reference" option while inputting my phone number and nothing is showing up. The only thing that shows is Apple.com saying delivery on Oct. 5th (boo!).

Did anyone notice that you can do a pick-up order on apple.com (after 10:00pm EDT each night) and if available pickup in the morning at a store. So people that ordered last night could pickup today.

Should have been easy to do BEFORE the phones left china.


Exactly !! The option for store pickup was on my pre-order screen on the 14th, but was not active. I tried to select it several times, but it did nothing. You're right, they should have given us the option to convert them after we pre-ordered, but before the order was actually processed for shipping in China. Instead they advised people to cancel their pre-orders, and hope their contract reset, and then hope a store had some available. What a nightmare in this tech age we live in. No, they just made sure stores had plenty, who cares about loyal customers who took the time to pre-order? Afterall, they had our money, they could make us wait. Can you say PR Screw Up???


PS. I was also in the Oct 5th group, but was lucky enough to receive it on Wednesday, but still think they botched this one for so many customers.

Just an update on my iPhone 5's status. It was stuck in Louisville but has since then promptly left and is just waiting 15 minutes away by bike over the weekend until they deliver it EOD Monday. I asked if I could pick it up but it's closed to anyone but drivers on the weekend.

I began to wonder when it was stuck after Import Scan, then I got an Email from Apple and then I looked at the status and it showed Import Scan again. And that's when things began moving.
