Is iOS 6 draining iPhone 4 battery faster?

Hello. I solved the batery drain problem...restoring the iphone to factory settings anda clean of data, sync my contacts and don't install any old application, only new facebook, full charge the batery and use it normally with mobile data on but 3g off and it dies before one day and a half, yssterday i full charge before died and unplugged at 5pm with 100% batery and mobile data off today at 5pm have 70% batery...i'm waiting to see when we dies, but seems he is now ok...and o makes drain is old applications...

At this time my iphone 4 don't died yet, and have 22% of batery and 2 daya(48hours) and 3 hours...i think i solve the problem it is the old applications who are not compatible

Spoke to Three after talking to Apple who then transferred me to Apple, told them my problem I then got transferred to someone else who said that this a problem he has never come accross, after discussing all my options again and informing me that the nearest store is only 36km away when in fact it is 75 miles away I did ask him if he was using iOS 6 maps to get this information after he stopped laughing he then proceeded to inform me that apple was aware of the problem and was working very hard to resolve the issue but did not have info on how long before the update was ready as there are now so many network providers it takes a lot longer than it did to sort out the battery problem like they had when iOS 5 came out. At long last an apple customer service representative admitting they have a problem and they are working on a fix will I be able to last long enough with my phone to find out I don't think I will, Samsung here I come.

I would like to personally thank everyone that has posted here, from the bottom of my heart! We care more about each other and trying to find the answer to this nightmare, than Apple does!! They won't even acknowlege a problem! But I have been following what everyone has said, and trying what you have tried, in hopes of having my battery last all day! Keep posting, I think many people are reading and trying anything to fix our own phones. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I will not be purchasing another apple product after this fiasco!

I have been working on this problem for the last couple of days.

I have a new 4s that worked great till I installed 6.0. Now the battery drains really fast and the phone heats up.

I have tried every solution on this thread from a full wipe and reinstall to turning off "insert fix here"

I finally figured out my phones problem. It turns out that this problem isnt new. This happened when 5.0 came out as well.

Here is the culprit:

I installed System Activity Monitor "SAM" (There are many apps that do the same...this is the one I chose) and saw that I was having the same "accessdatad crash loop" as the article.

I proceeded to focus on the ICloud since it was the culprit in the said article. I turned off all the ICloud settings. I then checked the processes via "SAM". The crash loop was gone. I then turned one the ICloud settings one by one, checking "SAM" each time till I found "MY" problem. For me it was the Calendar. I must have a issue with a event or calendar. I think it could be a contact, bookmark or many other sync items for other people. You will just have to go through all the settings till you find out what area is causing the problem

So..I now have my ICloud Calendar Sync off. Now the fun job of fixing it begins. Im going to use the article as a starting point.

Deleted all the calendars off my phone. Turned ICloud Calender back on. Clicked on the calendar app..waited for sync. Checked activity app...all is well. Phone fixed!!

Today 19 Out At 00h30 the iphone 4 with 4% of batery died and with 55h 30min remaining, i solve my probem but hope Apple solve the bugs of IOS6 i have icloud facetime notifications off

My problem was solved.

1) Do not sync your Calendar and Contact in iCloud (for me, i just sync reminders and notes. I use Google calendar to sync calendar in my phone so that i can access my calendar anywhere. MY secretary can also access it to set appointment. This will replace iCloud in the mean time)

2) Under Contact, mail and callendar's Fetch New Data must be turned Off. Push must also be turned Off. Adavance settings for iCloud, Exchange and your mail must also be in Manual too.

Here is how to do it.

3) Settings>iCloud>Calendars-off> Contacts-off (for me, all must be turned off except Remider and Notes and find my iphone).

4)Settings>Mail, Contacts Calendars>Fetch New Data>Turn Push off

5) Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Advance>iCloud> Manual

6)Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Advance>Exchange>Manual

7)Settings>Mail,Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Advance>MailAddress>Manual

Then do everything you want on your iphone.

Experimenting: 1 and 3 above was turned on (not off) and wifi on. While 2,4,5,6,7 is set as above. I will update if battery will drop drastically.

After the above experiment, the battery is doing fine.

Conclusion: THE PUSH AND FECTH IS THE CULPRIT

Absolutely having the batter drain issue. I've fixed it by turning off Passbook. I wanted to like the app, but the beauty is you don't think, it does. If I had to turn it on before using it (since it's sucking the battery dry) that defeats the purpose. I also don't appreciate that wifi isn't auto-detecting. Other than that... I practically spend half my day just feeling the outside of it and marveling about how awesome it is. I'm new to Siri and panoramas (updated from iPhone 4) and despite all the bogus hoopla, Maps rocks!

Dont turn it off. Just turn off the fetch data. It simply means it does not get the data untill you touch the application and use it. Unlike the fecth data, the data is pushed/fecthed every few minutes. That entails battery consumption.

I had the same issue and after many experments, I found the issue is with my gmail account.

I had to turn it off (only the mail, but not the calendar, notes...etc).

If it is on, the battery drains very fast (5% in couple of minutes this morning). When it is off, the battery is healthy and drops alot slower than otherwise.

I already set my setup to be manual, and that did not seem to affect the battery drainage when the email was turned on. I also had it some times to fetch data every 15 minutes and some other times every 30 minutes, but they all did not seem to have an impact on the battery life. Only turning it ON/OFF was what made the difference!

yep im having the same issue since i update ios6 before that my battery was working long in iphone4 ios5x.

the fetch data of view accounts was in push mode under: push / extended settings. I hope that I am right rephrase because my os-language isnt english. under os5 I had it all turned off.
