Same issue:

Installed IOS 6 and found that i am having the same issue as everyone in this discussion.
Battery is draining fast that it does not last half a day, i did disabled all major services including wifi and still the same issue.

Apple needs to look into this ASAP, there is no way all this discussion and some has the courage to say that the majority of users are not experiencing this issue. The worse is that i tried to restore to backup before upgrade and it only restores configuration and apps and not the IOS.
Any one have a way to restore to IOS 5.1.1?

Thanks.

Yea, piggy backing on this! My battery life SUCKED bad today. I will either need to go back to 5.1.1 or a patch needs to come. Anyone know how to regress install 5.1.1 please speak up.. Or maybe someone from apple post it is a known problem and that they are working it. Also, I have a 5 on the way, can we also exspect this to be a problem with the new phones? I need to be able to go 12 hours without a charge and this is a limiting factor that just *****!!

Well I guess my question has been answered! I googled this same question after having to charge my phone twice today, luckly I had a charger with me otherwise I would have been really angry. Apple better fix this Sh*t FAST cause I can't carry a charger everywhere with me & expect to have a place to plug in, this is ridiculas. I'll be googling how to downgrade to 5.1 next cause I'm wondering how this will impact the overall battery life (eg rapid cycles = full charge cycle?) UGH... I knew it was to good to be true. Overall it's faster but I'll take the slow down to know I'll have a charge at 3pm.

As for the update brwning12??

-why would they block post allowing us to go back to 5.1.1? I am a faithful apple user, and I need my devices to work at peak performace. I am not even pset that the battery id draining fast. I get that there is a certian amount of time to perfect software, but I need my battery life... WTFO?

Ok guys. So I took off PUSH and Passbook and it seemed to calm it down to a reasonable drain. I left location services on and it did not affect it either way. I did notice that while I had PUSH on my Internet was slow to a crawl and never really worked. I suspect it's PUSH and/or Passbook in my case. Try it and it might buy u some time until a patch. Either way this is absurd. I have an iPhone4 on 6.0

Take my suggestions friends --- I am getting "BANG BANG" 34 hours battery life on iPhone 4 with iOS 6.

1) TURN OFF ALL LOCATION SERVICES EXCEPT MAPS APPS.

2) STOP THE EMAIL PUSH SERVICE.

3) DISABLE Wi-Fi AND BLUETOOTH (( I don't use wi-fi during mobile condition).

4) SWITCH OFF THE TIME ZONE UPDATES.

5) SET DISPLAY ON ‘AUTO BRIGHTNESS'.

6) TURN OF THE EQUALIZER.

7) SET AUTO-LOCK TIMER TO 1 MINUTE.

8) KILL BACKGROUND APPS WHICH YOU ARE NOT USING.

9) TURN OFF VIBRATION.

10) DISABLE THE DIAGNOSTICS AND USES.

11) TURN OFF 3G WHEN YOU ARE NOT SURFING. THEN USE 2G OR EDGE CONNECTION ONLY FOR RECEIVING PUSS NOTIFICATIONS.

12) KEEP YOUR IPHONE COOL AS MUCH YOU CAN.

13) UNSTABLE MOBILE SIGNAL HURM BATTERY LIFE HUGELY.

14) PLEASE DON'T LEAVE AN APPS PAUSE AND YOU TURN OFF THE LOCK SCREEN AND JUST FORGOT TO CLOSE IT.

USE "SIRI" LESS OFTEN FOR 4S USERS.

I have almost always had this issue with the upgrades at first. Two versions ago was the worst but Apple eventually tweaked something and it was alright after that.

I think there is some extra synching going on at first (as stuff updates etc) and then it usually settles back down.

Last night after I upgraded it seemed to drain fast (maybe it was just from playing with the new toy) but it was back to regular drain today.

Dont panic, hang in there, it might resolve itself.
